Roma – Alfonso Cuaron’s most personal film till date was the clear winner at the Critics’ Choice Awards – winning Best Picture, Foreign-Language Film, Director, and Cinematography. While this amps up its chances to be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar this year. It also looks like Curon – who personally did the cinematography (leaving long-time collaborator Emmanuel Lubezki) will be up for multiple nominations this year. Other winners also include Christian Bale – Who won another Best Actor award for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in Adam Mckay’s polarizing “Vice.” It was an overwhelming ceremony for musician turned actress “Lady Gaga” who won her first Best Actress award for Bradley Cooper’s much-hyped “A Star is Born”. She shared her award with veteran actress Glenn Close who won for her fantastic performance in  Björn Runge’s “The Wife.”

Hosted by the Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) Yorgos Lanthimos’s period drama “The Favourite” was nominated in a whopping 14 categories but managed to take home only two. The ceremony was hosted by Taye Diggs and here is the complete list of winners:
