Amazon Prime Video in December 2020 Amazon Prime Video is one of the biggest streamers in the entertainment industry in current times. The platform is teeming with several Originals, Movies and Series providing a variety of options to watch to its ever increasing subscriber base and consumers. And this holiday season, Amazon Prime Video is boasting of a slate of new movies and shows that is not just limited to Christmas-y theme, instead a slew of drama and sci-fi themes. So let’s check out what’s coming new on the platform this month.
One of the early Christmas presents from Amazon Prime this month is its original movies on the platform. Including “Sound of Metal”, starring Riz Ahmed as a drummer suffering hearing loss and Olivia Cooke as his recovering heroin addict girlfriend and bandmate; “I’m Your Woman”, a 1970s crime drama starring Rachel Brosnahan as a suburban housewife forced on the run when her thief husband betrays his partners; and “Sylvie’s Love”, a romance set in 1950s Harlem starring Tessa Thompson.
Other new movie additions include the Valley Girl -remake (2020) ; Blackbird (2020) starring Susan Sarandon as a dying woman hosting her family for one last time; A League of their Own (1992); Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004) and its sequel; and the animated hit Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (2009). Two more of Sean Connery’s James Bond classics, Dr. No (1962) and Goldfinger (1964), return to the streaming service with many of the rest of the late actor’s Bond titles.

The fifth season of its original sci-fi hit “The Expanse” is coming to Amazon Prime Video in December 2020. In Season 5, the sci-fi series will follow the crew of the Rocinante as they attempt to combat with the planetary gold rush that was set up in the previous installment. Archive shows headed to Prime this month include all five seasons of early 2000s classic The Bernie Mac Show, and all eight seasons of ’90s sitcom Mad About You, including the 2019 revival.
