Plot

Based on the New York Times-bestselling book by Charmaine Wilkerson, Black Cake combines family drama with a captivating murder mystery. With a diverse cast and a global setting spanning Jamaica, Rome, Scotland, England, and Southern California, the show offers a rich and intricate narrative that unfolds over decades.

In the late 1960s, Covey, a runaway bride, vanishes into the waves off the Jamaican coast, leaving behind uncertainty about her fate. Was she drowned, or was she a fugitive fleeing from accusations of her husband’s murder?

Fast forward fifty years to California, where Eleanor Bennett, a widow, succumbs to cancer, leaving her estranged children, Byron and Benny, a flash drive containing previously untold stories of her journey from the Caribbean to America.
