Since its September 2010 debut on CBS, the American police procedural drama Blue Bloods has become a mainstay of television entertainment. The Reagans are a Catholic family with deep roots in New York City’s police department and a mix of Irish and American heritage; the story follows them as they navigate the city’s intricate streets. New York City Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, provides a steadying force for the story. The show has been successfully running with 14 seasons. The much-anticipated revelation regarding the renewal of Blue Bloods for its 15th season has been a subject of speculation among ardent viewers. Fans are excited to know if Blue Bloods season 15 coming or not. Let’s find out.

What is Blue Bloods about?

The plot flows carefully through the lives of the Reagan family, who are deeply involved in law enforcement. Frank Reagan, who is the Police Commissioner of the New York Police Department, is in charge. Daniel, the oldest son, works as a detective for the New York Police Department. Jamie, the youngest son, is a captain for the same department. As an assistant district attorney, the daughter Erin works in the law field.

The tragic death of Frank’s second son, Joe, in the line of duty by a corrupt cop connected to the Blue Templar, a group of crooked NYPD officers, casts a shadow over the family tapestry. The name of the show comes from the words “bleeding blue” and the “blue-blooded” nobility of the Reagan family’s roles in New York City’s justice system. It also refers to the commitment of a whole family to law enforcement.

Has Blue Bloods Been Renewed for Season 15?

Unfortunately, Blue Bloods has not been renewed for season 15. CBS has officially confirmed that the venerable police drama is reaching its conclusion after a remarkable 14-season run. The 14th season unfolds in two parts—winter and fall of 2024.

Tom Selleck, expressing his sentiments, remarked, “For the past 13 years, it has been an honor and a privilege to work on a show that not only celebrates the men and women who protect and serve in New York City but also displayed the importance of family. Working alongside these incredible actors, writers, producers, directors, and crew has been a dream come true, and I’m grateful to have been a part of this extraordinary group for over 275 episodes. Thank you to CBS Studios and CBS Network for their steadfast support, and we offer heartfelt gratitude to the fans who gathered with us for dinner every Friday night.”
