With a rapidly changing neighborhood along with a growing teen at home, Inez has to make decisions and try her best to protect her family.
The film shows a very real depiction of what an American household looked like when NYC was rapidly developing, from the early 90s to the early 2000s. We see it through the lens of a family which goes through everything. The growth of Terry from an isolated, rather silent child into an intelligent human is truly mesmerizing. This story of love, survival, and a fight for identity and stability is a must-watch for every cinema lover and anyone in general looking for something raw and real.
With an incredible 97% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 86% audience score based on 250+ verified ratings, the film promises an experience of A-class cinema. Both critics and the general audience love the portrayal of Inez by Teyana Taylor. This might have been the directorial debut of A V Rockwell, but it made sure to turn heads toward her.

Is ‘A Thousand and One’ playing in movie theatres?
Yes! After receiving a warm reception at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, where it also bagged the Grand Jury Prize in US Dramatic Competition, Focus Features opted for a wide release for the film. Where can I stream ‘A Thousand and One’ movie online?
As of now, nowhere. Focus Features hasn’t declared a date for the film to land on Video on Demand services. However, it’s most likely that the film will be available to Buy/Rent on all major VOD services like Amazon, VUDU, Itunes, etc., within a span of 45 days from its initial theatrical release.
As far as subscription-based services are concerned, there’s no official announcement of the streaming release date or where the movie will land online. However, as Focus Pictures distribute the film, one can expect to see the film in the Peacock lineup sometime soon. Till then, keep a lookout for this space for future updates.
