How to Watch ‘Champions’?: The 2023 sports comedy movie “Champions” marks Bobby Farrelly’s solo directorial debut and features a screenplay penned by Mark Rizzo. Oscar-nominated actor Woody Harrelson is set to play the central role in what looks like a fun film.
One-half of the renowned Farrelly brothers duo Bobby Farrelly takes on the directorial duties for “Champions.” Alongside his brother Peter Farrelly, he has helmed several iconic comedy films, including “Dumb and Dumber,” “There’s Something About Mary,” and “Me, Myself & Irene.” The last movie they co-directed was “Dumb and Dumber To” in 2014, which despite its box office success, was perceived by many as a lesser follow-up to the original.
The storyline for “Champions” is based on the 2018 Spanish movie “Campeones,” which draws inspiration from the real-life tale of the longstanding Valencian Special Olympics team, Aderes. With any luck, “Champions” can carve out its own identity while staying true to the essence of its predecessor.
The movie portrays Harrelson as a disgruntled and short-tempered minor league basketball coach assigned the challenging task of coaching a team of Special Olympics athletes. Initially, he is unwilling to take up the role as it is a court-mandated community service, but his perspective changes as he begins to build a rapport with his basketball squad members.
Champions Movie Cast:
Woody Harrelson, who has taken on supporting roles in recent years, shines in his lead role as a flawed yet endearing character, Marcus.
Kaitlin Olsen portrays Alex, Marcus’ love interest, who is coincidentally the older sister of one of his team members. Olsen is recognized for her role as Dee Reynolds in the popular FX comedy series, “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.” The film also features appearances by Cheech Marin and Matt Cook.
Is ‘Champions’ playing in movie theatres?

Where can I stream ‘Champions’ movie online?
