This year marks the highly-anticipated release of Creed III, officially making it a trilogy since its debut in 2015. Wood Harris (Empire) and Florian Munteanu (Shang Chi: The Legend of the Ten Rings) also make a comeback as Tony “Little Duke” Burton, Donnie’s trainer, and Viktor Drago, Donnie’s previous rival from Creed II.
Notably, this is the first film in the Rocky series without Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa, although he remains a producer. The movie also marks the feature film debut of Mila Davis-Kent as Amara, Donnie, and Bianca’s daughter. The big news, however, is Jonathan Majors joining the cast as Damian “Dame” Anderson, a childhood friend from Donnie’s past who challenges him to the fight of his life.
Is Creed III playing in movie theatres?
Yes, Creed III hit movie theaters on March 3, 2023. Initially slated for release on November 23, 2022, so as to follow the pattern of the previous Creed movies that all debuted in November of their respective years, the third film was pushed for conflicts with other big hitters.
This time, the movie will also be available in IMAX format, making it the first-ever sports film shot with IMAX cameras. Select IMAX theaters also offered advanced screenings from March 1.
