While this isn’t the first time the beloved tabletop game has been adapted for the big screen, previous attempts, such as the 2000 film, fell short of capturing the true essence of the game. However, with “Honor Among Thieves,” fans hope this film will finally deliver the definitive adaptation they’ve been eagerly anticipating. 




Directed by the talented Game Night duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves”  boasts an all-star cast of Hollywood heavyweights and for sure promises to be a feast for the senses.

Set in a mythical world, a band of unlikely heroes, including a charming bard, a fierce barbarian, a noble paladin, a powerful sorcerer, and a young druid, must band together to undo a historical wrong. Their mission? To retrieve an ancient artifact that has the power to destroy everything they know and love. Along the way, they will navigate treacherous dungeons, face off against deadly dragons, and battle all manner of mythical creatures.




When the film was initially announced, speculations were all on its way. Both fans and internet trolls were up in arms, ready to bring the film down even before it was unleashed. However, all those speculations were squashed down after the movie had its SXSW premiere. Opening to a roaring response, the fantasy adventure has managed to become one of the best-reviewed commodities of the year. Currently, at a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the website’s consensus states, “An infectiously good-spirited comedy with a solid emotional core, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves offers fun fantasy and adventure even if you don’t know your HP from your OP.”

Leading the way is Hollywood heartthrob Chris Pine who will be seen playing Elgin the Bard.

Supporting him in the lead are Michelle Rodriguez as Holga the Barbarian, Regé-Jean Page as Xenk the Paladin, Justice Smith as Simon the Sorcerer, Sophia Lillis as Doric the Druid, Hugh Grant as Forge Fitzwilliam the Rogue, and Daisy Head as Sofina, a Red Wizard of Thay.




Is ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ playing in movie theatres? 

Yes. Paramount Picture decided to release the Fantasy Adventure across the globe on March 31st, 2023, in multiple formats, including the Immersive Cinema Experience (ICE).

Where can I stream the ‘Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves’ movie online? 

For now, there’s no way to watch Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves online. Paramount Pictures hasn’t decided on a date or place for the streaming release of the action extravaganza. However, if we are to take a wild guess, it’s highly likely that the movie will eventually land on Paramount+, and people with a subscription will be able to check it out from the comfort of their homes. 




It’s also likely that the film will be available on digital and Video on Demand services after the 45 days theatrical window is lifted. So, if you plan to see it at home, you should be able to Rent/Buy the movie by mid-June.
