How to Watch ‘Scream VI’?: Masked killers, satiric black humor, and a “whodunit” mystery are what Scream VI, the latest installment in the Scream franchise, is all about. Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the film follows the surviving members of “Woodsboro” who move to New York City only to be hunted by a new Ghostface Killer.
The movie promises to deliver plenty of scares, suspense, and gore. You can expect to see familiar elements of the Scream franchise, such as the iconic Ghostface mask and meta-humor, as well as new twists and surprises.
The film picks up a year after the Woodsboro killings as carpenter sisters Sam and Tara move to NYC and attend Blackmore University along with fellow survivors Chad and Mindy.
While they try to carve a new life, their dark past catches up, and a Professor gets murdered by a student pretending to be Ghostface, who is eventually killed by a different Ghostface. Sam has to go to therapy but still is hated in public because of an online conspiracy that says she is the true Ghostface.
Her name again emerges in the recent murders, and the police investigate her. As new and old Ghostface masks keep showing up at murder scenes, Sam and Tara realize something is seriously wrong. People close to them keep getting killed, and the same horror is again hunting them, the one they left behind in Woodsboro.
With a 76% approval on Rotten Tomatoes based on 238 votes, it promises a good plot with twists and turns to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
