Hunters

The first season of Hunters received wide critical and commercial success upon its release in 2020. Now, three years after its first season, the show is returning for a second and final season. This American historical conspiracy drama series is directed by David Weil and stars Logan Lerman, Al Pacino, Lena Olin, and Jerrica Hinton, among others.
Set in 1977 New York, the show details the escapades of a group of Nazi hunters as they discover a plan to create the Fourth Reich by escaped Nazi officers. This season will pursue two narratives, one is set two years after the events of the first season and focus on the Hunters’ pursuit of Hitler in South America, and the other will follow Al Pacino’s character Meyer just after World War 2. This quirky, edgy conspiracy drama series returns to Amazon Prime Video for a second season on 13th January.
The Drop

If one is in the mood for some laughter, The Drop is probably the film for you. This comedy film by filmmaker Sarah Adina Smith stars Utkarsh Ambudkar, Jillian Bell, and Gene Farber in the main roles.
The film follows a happily married young couple who are doing well in their career and life as they start planning to start a family, only to rethink their plans when one of them drops their friend’s baby in front of all of their friends on vacation. What follows is a hilarious merry-go-round of recriminations, blame, and craziness as the young couple second-guess their decisions. You can catch the laughter riot once it starts streaming on Hulu on 13th January 2023.
Trial By Fire

Created by Prashant Nair and Kevin Luperchio, Trial by Fire is an upcoming Hindi language limited series on the 1997 Uphaar Cinema fire incident in New Delhi, India. The series is based on the best-selling book titled Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy by Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy, who lost their children in the tragedy.
The series details the horrific incident and the aftermath for the victims and their families in their long fight for justice. The fire at Uphaar Cinema in June 1997 resulted in the death of 59 people, and 103 people got serious injuries in the resulting stampede; it was found that the tragedy was a result of gross negligence and failure to meet safety codes and protocols. The series stars Rajshri Deshpande as Neelam Krishnamoorthy and Abhay Deol as Shekhar Krishnamoorthy; Rajesh Tailang, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Ratna Pathak Shah, Shilpa Shukla, and Shardul Bharadwaj are also cast in significant roles. The limited series drops on Netflix come 13th January 2023.
Mayor of Kingstown

American Crime thriller series Mayor or Kingstown is returning for a second season. The show follows the McLusky family in Kingston, Michigan, and looks at the police and the prison- system in a town where incarceration is a business. The show delves into themes of racism, corruption, and inequality inherent in the prison and the judicial system.
This stylish, dark, and gritty crime thriller stars Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest in the main roles of Mike McLusky and Miriam McLusky, respectively. The new season will continue where season one left off at the end of a violent prison riot and will follow Mike settling into his role of mayor of the city as he tries to bring order to a city without a proper power structure. If you are in the mood to watch some violence, payback, and power politics, the Mayor of Kingstown starts streaming on Paramount+ on 15th January 2023.
The Last of Us

Based on the popular 2013 game of the same name developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, The Last of Us is an upcoming post-apocalyptic drama series. The series is produced by Craig Mazin, Carolyn Strauss, and Rose Lam Waddell; Mazin is known for creating the award-winning limited series Chernobyl (2019).
The show is set in a post-apocalyptic world where most of the world’s population has been killed or turned into zombie-like creatures after an outbreak. Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, both Game of Thrones alumni, in the main roles of Joel and Ellie, the series follows Joel, a smuggler, as he fights odds and life-threatening situations in a harsh and brutal world to take Ellie across the US. This action drama with survivalist undertones and a sensitive core starts releases on HBO. The first episode drops on 15th January 2023, and new episodes air every Sunday that follows.
King Shakir Recycle

King Shakir Recycle is an animated Turkish film written and directed by Haluk Can Dizdaroglu. Based on the larger theme of environmental crisis and pollution, the light-hearted film follows the scientists’ solution to the pollution problem by sending garbage into space on rockets resulting in garbage building up on alien planets and livid aliens invading earth to exact revenge for the outrage.
This light-hearted animation film is surely guaranteed to bring smiles and entertain children and adults alike. The film starts streaming on Disney+ on 18th January 2023.
That ’90s Show

That ’90s Show is an upcoming period sitcom from the creators of the massively successful sitcom That ’70s show (1998-2006), Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner. The show features many of the same characters and locales as its predecessor and is set in 1995 Point Place, Wisconsin. The show follows Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of Eric Forman and Donna Pinciott from the original show, as she spends the summer at her grand parent’s place.
The show will detail her teenage adventures, friendships, and romance in the 1990s. Many of the characters from That ’70s show return to the series, including Topher Grace, Eric Forman, Mila Kunis, Ashton Kutcher, Michael Kelso, Laura Prepon, and Wilmer Valderrama, among others. Set on the same lines as the much loved and popular That ’70s show, the series will make the audiences chuckle and take them on a good old nostalgia trip. The series starts streaming on Netflix come 19th January 2023.

Sorry About the Demon is a horror comedy film written and directed by Emily Hagins and stars Jon Michael Simpson, Jeff McQuitty, Olivia Ducayen, and Paige Evans in key roles. The film follows Will and his series of misfortunes; fresh from getting dumped by his girlfriend, he discovers that his new place is haunted by a houseful of spirits. Will must find a way to make things right with his girlfriend, banish a human sacrifice-seeking demon from his house, and do a DIY exorcism.
This horror comedy is meant to scare and amuse in equal measure, and the film starts streaming on Shudder on 19th January 2023.
