Phase 5 and 6 of the MCU: With the soon-to-release Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Marvel finally kicks off the fifth part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Kevin Feige disclosed the same in an exclusive Quantumania cover feature with the Empire magazine, “We wanted to kick off Phase Five with Ant-Man because he’d earned that position,” The concept of multiverse already introduced in Phase Four of the MCU is explored further in the third film of the stand-alone Ant-Man films and with it introduces the big baddie of the multiverse, Kang The Conqueror.
Phase five and Phase six of the MCU, will heavily focus on the concept of the multiverse and set the ground for the next Avengers film, The Kang Dynasty. The latest trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania shows a character asking to ‘rewrite time,’ setting the tone for the significance of space, time, and parallel universes.
Apart from Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Michael Douglas starrer, Phase five of the MCU has five other films scheduled till September 2024 and six films in Phase Six. Phase 5 includes the third part of the Guardians of the Galaxy series and the new Captain America film, among others.
Phase Six also includes the next two Avengers films. Besides that, Marvel also has scheduled many television series that belong to the MCU to release on Disney+, including the much-awaited Agatha spinoff and season 2 of the popular Loki series.
