1. ’83 | Kabir Khan
Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ammy Virk
Cricket is almost a religion and an emotion in India. And it was at the time when there was no way to telecast the matches. The cricket fans had to rely on radios for updates on those matches which kept them at the edge of their seats.
Among them, the 1983 world cup is one of the most important matches in Indian Cricket history. Indian players surprised themselves and the audiences with an unexpected victory, in an unimaginable way. And Kapil Dev made history on that day by exhibiting an intense-filled game in the field.

Now, this is being made as a film, to visually capture such a historical event and it might try to satisfy both the cricket and cinema fans to see the ’83 match in a way. Ranveer Singh plays as Kapil Dev, and the first look of his uncanny poster has already created a buzz among the fans.

2. Chhapaak | Meghna Gulzar
Deepika Padukone, Vikrant Massey, Delzad Hiwale
Now, this is another biopic in Bollywood from the director of “Raazi”, Meghna Gulzar. In this film, Deepika Padukone fills the shoes of Laxmi Agarwal, an acid-attack survivor. We have had Parvathy Thiruvothu’s “Uyare”, a similarly crafted trope from Malayalam cinema this year. This is a sensitively weaved fictional drama based on real incidents. It feels like an essential story as it never tries to go over the top in a dramatic way, which saves the painstaking effort of the film and doesn’t lose its grip on reality. Let’s hope Chhapaak does justice to its material.
3. Roohi Afza | Hardik Mehta
Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi
This horror comedy-drama from the writer of “Trapped”, “Hardik Mehta”, is intriguing. Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Pankaj Tripathi work together in this film. Vicky Kaushal
“Sardar Udham Singh” is another anticipated film from the director Shoojit Sircar. This biographical film is about a revolutionary freedom fighter, Udham Singh. 6. Laxmi Bomb | Raghava Lawrence
Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, Tusshar Kapoor
It’s a known fact that Akshay Kumar’s script choices are almost always reinvigorating. “Laxmi Bomb” is the Hindi remake of Raghava Lawrence’s Tamil Film “Muni 2: Kanchana”. He directs the Hindi version too.
This horror-comedy planted the seeds in Tamil cinema for the franchise culture to get animated. While many such franchising attempts went in vain in Tamil cinema, “Kanchana” franchise found ways to become the blockbusters, even when the quality of the series began to crumble.
“Kanchana” is a finely designed craft with a certain blend of horror and comedy where, in the remake, Akshay Kumar has all the screen space to occupy himself and is expected to outdo himself once again. The dauntless first look poster has already created an interesting buzz in Bollywood.

8. Shamshera | Karan Malhotra
Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor
“Shamshera”, from the director of Agneepath and Brothers, is about dacoit tribe in India and it takes place during Independence war against the British. Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor star in this action-adventure film.
Karan Malhotra, the film’s director, assisted the directors of “Lakshya”, “Swades”, “Jodhaa Akbar” and many more sensationally striking films. After manifesting that Ranbir can sink his teeth in any versatile role, as he did in “Sanju”, it is expected that this adventurous drama, where he plays the central character and double role, will live up to the high expectation.
9. Panga | Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari
Kangana Ranaut, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Richa Chaddha
