Here’s Where to Watch and Stream Olivia Wilde’s New Thriller Movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ Online

Don't Worry Darling

When Olivia Wilde decided to hone the director’s cap back in 2019 with the coming-of-age buddy comedy ‘Booksmart,’ no one had expected it to be such a critical success. The Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever starrer went on to get nominated for prestigious awards like Golden Globe & British Academy Film Awards. This is why, her sophomore film ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ wasn’t just greatly anticipated, but also allowed to have a bigger canvas, with Warner Bros staking its claim by putting a lot of money into it.

However, all hasn’t been not-so-worrisome for Wilde. Firstly, Shia LaBeouf, who was supposed to star in the film opposite Florence Pugh exited the movie. Then, the director cast her latest fling, and now-romantic partner – the inexperience Harry Styles in the role, amid a host of problematic issues that she has been handling with her ex, Jason Sudeikis, and Pugh’s supposed discontent towards the new updates.

To add to that and closer to the movie’s premiere at the Venice premiere, it was reported that Pugh is having issues with Wilde and will not be taking part in any of the promotions. Meanwhile, Wilde, stated that she recast Styles because she wanted a safer space for Pugh, which is why she fired LaBeouf (who was cited for sexual battery earlier in 2020). But, a video that LeBeouf released later when the news caught internet fire, made things dicey about his exit from the film, yet again.

Amid speculation, the film premiered at Venice Film Festival, but Pugh did not attend most of the film’s promotional events, adding to the super-awkward and meme-worthy opening the film saw at the festival. While it did receive a standing ovation, mostly for Florence Pugh’s exceptional performance, critics hated the film and called it ‘repetitive’ and ‘frustrating.’

Currently, at 34% Rotten Tomatoes Score, the website’s consensus says that “Despite an intriguing array of talent on either side of the camera, Don’t Worry Darling is a mostly muddled rehash of overly familiar themes.”
