‘Hypnotic’ Trailer: Ben Affleck stars as a Detective looking for his missing daughter in Robert Rodriguez’s psychological thriller

Post the sneak peek of Robert Rodriguez’s psychological thriller ‘Hypnotic’ at this year’s SXSW, the director has revealed a new trailer for the film. The trailer unveil was done at a live event on IGN, where we have our first look at Ben Affleck’s renowned detective Daniel Rourke, who is in the midst of the biggest case of his life – the disappearance of his own daughter. 

Last month, we were treated to a thrilling glimpse of Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming action-packed movie “Hypnotic” through its first-look images. And now, the newly released trailer takes us on a mind-bending journey alongside the movie’s protagonist, police detective Daniel Rourke, as he desperately searches for his missing daughter, Minnie. However, the situation takes a mysterious turn when Rourke discovers that his daughter is somehow linked to a string of ongoing robberies, all of which are being masterminded by a shadowy figure with hypnotic powers – played by the talented William Fichtner. 

The trailer for “Hypnotic” also gives us a glimpse into Ben Affleck’s powerful performance as a frantic father desperate for answers. As he delves deeper into the investigation, his obsession and anxiety begin to take over, and he finds himself grappling with his darkest fears. Fortunately, he is not alone in his pursuit. He teams up with psychic Diana Cruz, played by the talented Alice Braga, to track down the mysterious man responsible for a series of robberies that his daughter is linked to. Along the way, he learns that those with hypnotic powers can manipulate their victims into seeing and feeling things that aren’t real, adding a terrifying new layer to the already high-stakes scenario. 

The film also co-stars Jeff Fahey, Kelly Frye, JD Pardo, Bonnie Discepolo, Dayo Okeniyi, Derek Russo, and Corina Calderon.

Hypnotic premieres in movie theatres on May 12th, 2023
