The Big Door Prize (Season 2) Episode 6 “Back in The Saddle” Recap:
After Mr. Johnsonโs (Patrick Kerr) accident at the Deerfest, Izzy (Crystal Fox) made Beau (Aaron Roman Weiner) their townโs sheriff. Since then, Beau dedicated his life to the safety and security of the residents. Impulsively, he also gave up on the job he had. But eventually, he realized that all he had was a fake post and a fake badge. As a child, Beau threw up in the local botanical gardens. Now, he doesnโt want to be known for just that embarrassing memory. He opens up to Mr. Johnson about it, who advises him to check his vision on the Morpho machine. It may help him work out his confusion.
In his Morpho vision, Beau sees a version of his present self walking through the garden and barfing repeatedly. Mr. Johnson makes him see it as a sign of endless possibilities now that his worst day is behind him. Since his wifeโs death, Beau hadnโt explored his romantic options. So, he decides to go on a date with someone. For that, he shaves his beard and shows Jacob (Sammy Fourlas) and Trina (Djouliet Amara) his new look. While Trina supports Beauโs adorable enthusiasm and motivates him, Jacob gets a bit awkward by it. He fears that his father will get heartbroken by a disappointing date or a rejection.
Beauโs Date
Since Trinaโs parents are exploring new options in their lives, she makes Jacob accept his fatherโs romantic journey. But Jacob remains worried about his father getting his heart broken. So, he shows up at Hanaโs (Ally Maki) bar to keep a watch on Beau from a distance. Beau doesnโt know that Jacob is there. Hana allows this since she has seen people willing to change their lives because of the Morpho machine’s result. Beau stays at his table for a long time, but his date doesnโt show up. So, Jacob gets worried about Beau and blows his cover. He goes to speak with his father and see how he is doing.
Izzyโs New Interest
While driving, Izzy notices Mr. Johnson exercising in a park with some other people. She worries that he will have another heart attack and she will have to come to help him as his emergency contact. He reveals that he has made Beau the new contact. Izzy tries to explain why she left early from the hospital after the Deerfest. Then, Mr. Johnsonโs physical instructor, Freya (Melissa Ponzio), walks up to them and asks Izzy about her leg pain. Izzy talks about her agility as a dancer. Freya sees past Izzyโs lie and invites her to a Yoga activity at the pool. After making some excuses, Izzy eventually agrees to come.
Later, on the day of the exercise, Giorgio (Josh Segarra) also shows up. Izzy continues to flaunt her confidence in her skills. But Freya criticizes her to her face and doesnโt get intimidated by her as others do. Giorgio notices that Freya is complaining only about Izzy, even if her other students are making mistakes. So, he figures Freya has a romantic interest in Izzy and tells Izzy about it. Because of that, Izzy asks Freya out on a date. Freya says yes. Izzy realizes that Giorgio was right about Freya and looks forward to their date.
Aliceโs Dog
Alice (Justine Lupe) needs to go out for some personal work and canโt get a sitter for her dog, Yoyo. So, she asks Dusty (Chris OโDowd) if he can help take care of Yoyo. At the last minute, Dusty tells Cass (Gabrielle Dennis) about it. So, unprepared for it, Cass hides behind the sofa to avoid any interaction with Alice. But somehow, her cover gets blown. So, she, Alice, and Dusty have an awkward interaction. Once Alice leaves, Dusty takes Yoyo to the basement. Soon after, he realizes that Yoyo is pregnant. So, he starts panicking and looks for some old towels.
Cass realizes that Yoyo is pregnant and offers to help Dusty, considering the delicate situation. She joins Dusty in the basement to help Yoyo give birth. But soon after, Cass starts to panic. Trina returns home and notices them in a chaotic scene. So, she takes stressed Cass back to the living room while Dusty takes care of the childbirth. After Yoyo gives birth, Dusty brings the puppies to the living room. Trina and Cass adore them and try to think of names. While doing so, Trina blurts out that Dusty kissed Alice. Until then, Dusty hadnโt told Trina about him and Alice. Besides, he hadnโt told Cass about his kiss with Alice. So, it comes as a surprise for everyone.
