The Last of Us is currently the most-watched show of 2023, although it faces competition from several Netflix originals, like You, Ginny and Georgia, The Night Agent, and Outer Banks. 1. The Night Agent

It’s official: The Night Agent is Netflix’s most popular new series. The first episode went up on March 23, 2023, and since then, it has quickly become the most-watched new series of 2023. It amassed roughly 170 million viewing hours from fans around the world in the first weekend! As of April 2023, its popularity only continues to rise.

The show is adapted from Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name, which Shawn Ryan modified and expanded.

Series protagonist FBI agent Peter Sutherland (played by Gabriel Basso) operates out of a cramped office in the White House basement. Peter’s job is to answer the phone and provide assistance to American spies. After receiving a call from a civilian named Rose (Luciane Buchanan), who has troubling information, Peter and Rose team up to solve the case.

Less than a week after its premiere, The Night Agent was picked up for a second season. Season 2 of The Night Agent will premiere on Netflix in 2024, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.

2. Ginny & Georgia

Ginny & Georgia has been a huge success on Netflix, consistently ranking in the top ten.
Ginny Miller, an awkward and angsty 15-year-old, often thinks she’s more mature than her irresistibly charismatic 30-year-old mother, Georgia. Georgia has been on the run for a long time, but she finally feels ready to settle down in peaceful New England to give her family a chance at a normal life.

However, Georgia’s history threatens her and her family’s new way of life, and she will do everything it takes to keep her loved ones safe. There has been no confirmation of a Season 3, although the show’s success suggests it will return.

3. Wednesday

Was it a good call to transform The Addams Family into a generic Netflix series about a girl in a magical school who solves a dull murder case and deals with trite high school drama?

If you aren’t expecting anything amazing, it’s still worth watching, thanks to Jenna Ortega’s winningly sardonic performance as the renowned morbid adolescent Wednesday Addams and Tim Burton’s peculiar brand of macabre humor as director and executive producer.

4. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

The release of any season of Demon Slayer is a significant triumph for Netflix, considering the show ranks as one of the biggest and most popular anime of the past decade. Tanjiro Kamado and his family reside in the chilly mountains of Japan during the TaishĹŤ-era. Tragically, while he is out, demons brutally murder his family, leaving behind just their bloodied bodies when he returns. Nezuko, Tanjiro’s sister, has become a demon due to a cruel turn of events.

Nezuko’s life is spared after she shows compassion. Tanjiro vows to help his sister and prevent other families from suffering the same fate as his own by becoming a demon slayer to get revenge.

5. Beef

When Steven Yeun (playing a distressed contractor) and Ali Wong (playing an apparent know-it-all businesswoman) get into a road rage incident, their worlds converge. Their personal lives are falling apart around them, but that doesn’t stop them from engaging in a war of wills to ensure that neither of them loses to the other one.

Yeun gives a superb performance, and the never-ending chain of misfortunes that drives them both to fixate so intently on eliminating each other is an excellent source of comic relief. Who knew animosity could be so entertaining? It’s up there among the best Netflix originals of all time.

6. You

Number of Seasons: 4

You, one of Netflix’s most popular crime dramas, has racked up what could be close to 2 billion viewing hours over its four seasons! Joe faked his own death to get away from his neurotic wife, Love, and now he’s in Europe looking for his missing girlfriend, Marienne. Joe, now going by the name Jonathan Moore, is a professor at a renowned university and is starting to mingle with London’s social elite.

7. Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal

Number of Seasons: 1

This true-crime show is an excellent place to start if you saw the news about disbarred South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh and want to learn more about his conviction for the deaths of his son Paul and wife Maggie. The events of A Southern Scandal begin with the death of Mallory Beach, 19, in a boating accident piloted by Paul Murdaugh and progress backward to include the mysterious deaths of others close to the Murdaugh family.

Due to its release date, the trial that concluded with Alex being found guilty of both murders was not covered in the media, but Netflix will probably make a special episode about Murdaugh’s trial.
