Despite being seriously hurt, Tae-sang is able to disguise himself as a soldier and blend in with the surroundings. Lady Maeda is left alone in the room as a soldier finds fresh blood near the laundry room. Naturally, Tae-sang takes the opportunity and threatens Maeda to get him out. Later, Tae-sang gets into the car but immediately falls unconscious.

Mr. Gu is tortured to get information on Tae-sang. Unfortunately, he is unable to bear the pain, but he does not rat out on anyone. Tae-sang reveals how he has changed after seeing terrible things inside the hospital.

Ishikawa hears about someone killing people, and all the dead bodies don’t have brains. Furthermore, Kato reveals his three suspicions to Ishikawa, and upon hearing Myeong-ja’s name, Ishikawa is uncomfortable. Tae-sang comes home and learns that Mr. Gu and others are held in the police station. He has a word with Ishikawa, and they make a deal.

Ishikawa wants to know what is happening inside the hospital. Tae-sang agrees to reveal information if all the prisoners are released. The deal is made, and Ishikawa learns Maeda has something to do with all this. Mr. Gu is being nursed, and Mrs. Nawol asks Tae-sang to meet Chae-ok. He follows her out, and they have a tearful reunion. In fact, there seems to be awkwardness between them, and they are falling in love.

Ishikawa asks Maeda what she has done to Myeong-ja, but she tells him that their marriage was arranged for mutual benefit, and she does not have to answer anything. Consequently, Ishikawa is furious and tells Maeda that Tae-sang is dating Chae-ok, and Maeda loses all the color from her face. She visits the hospital and learns the behaviors of the creatures from Kato.

Tae-sang and Chae-ok see Myeong-ja going in and out of the creature state. A flare gun is fired, and all the cops chase Myeong-ja. She is running away from them, screaming she doesn’t want to die. Tae-sang and Chae-ok chase her in secrecy to save her from the police. Meanwhile, Maeda learns the creature in the hospital is Chae-ok’s mother, and she is in a state of shock.

Moreover, Lady Maeda finds a picture of Chae-ok and Seishin.

Tae-sang comforts Chae-ok and shows her the room with precious items in the pawnshop. He gives her a bracelet made of opal and tells her that they both will live to see a free Korea. Subsequently, they embrace each other and kiss. Tae-sang leaves, and Mrs. Nawol follows. Tae-sang meets Jun-taek (who is fine now) and asks the rebels for dynamites to blow up the hospital. Ishikawa’s funeral is taking place, and the police are asked to report that he had died honorably.

Meanwhile, Chae-ok sneaks a gun to Ishikawa’s funeral and shoots Ichiro. We see her lying on the floor, and she disappears. Tae-sang is informed about the situation, and he tries to find her, but there are no leads. Seishin breaks open the cage and gets out. Finally, Tae-sang reaches the funeral site, and Mori tells him Chae-ok has disappeared and nobody knows where she is. He also tells Tae-sang that there’s someone very powerful in the shadows commanding the people. At some point, the police raid the pawnshop to find Chae-ok.

Beom-o had snitched and had informed the Japanese about Tae-sang’s every move. Mr. Gu listens to Beom-o talking about this to someone on the phone. Jung-Won fights back when officers are trying to take him to feed Seishin. Maeda visits Tae-sang and asks him to forget about Chae-ok because she is dead. Tae-sang is heartbroken but remembers Mori’s words. He asks her to prove Chae-ok’s death.

Maeda tells him she has put him where he is and he should not make her his enemy. Tae-sang stands up to her, and she reveals that all the people he calls family have betrayed him. Then, Tae-sang reminds her that the reason was her and her torturous methods, and if it weren’t for her, these things wouldn’t have happened. Maeda is heartbroken, and Tae-sang takes the others and goes inside the pawnshop. Chae-ok was kept under Maeda’s care, and now she is sent to the hospital. Mr. Gu goes out to look for Chae-ok while Tae-sang and Mrs. Nawol comfort each other. Lato and Chae-ok’s eyes meet. Seishin from below rises and breaks the metal bars.

Kato is using Chae-ok as a human shield against Seishin and runs. Seishin is blasted with Nitrogen gas while Kato takes the remaining vials and escapes.

Jung-Won asks Tae-sang to leave with Chae-ok and live a happy life as he wants to be with Seishin. Tae-sang arrives in time and saves Chae-ok. Beom-o thinks he has lost the ones following him, but it turns out they are sneakily following him. From the car, many men in black get out, and so does Maeda. She tells Tae-sang that he wasn’t the first friend to betray her, implying Seishin was her friend before. She bids farewell, and Tae-sang and Chae-ok fight the men.

She tries to escape, but the dynamites go off.

Gyeongseong Creature (Season 1, Part 2), Episodes 8-10 Ending Explained:

What happens to Tae-sang and Chae-ok?

At the bar, Tae-sang and Jun-taek have a drink as promised. We see a flashback to the time Jun-taek admitted to ratting Tae-sang out to the Japanese after getting tortured. Tae-sang goes back to the pawnshop, but he is still heartbroken, and he hasn’t gotten the love he wanted. Kato speaks to Maeda, who is in a wheelchair with a half-burnt face. He asks her to decide whether she wants to join him in experimenting or leave for Japan in peace.

He leaves a glass of water in front of her. An underwater scene shows us Seishin holding on to a dead Chae-ok, and we see Najin get out of her and inside Chae-ok’s mouth. Seishin falls, and Chae-ok wakes up. We are cut to a scene on a television set about Korea’s history. As the camera zooms out, we hear someone call out Ho-jae, and the man looks like Tae-sang.

The ending of “Gyeongseong Creature Part 2” leaves us with a few questions. We are unsure if Najin was inside Maeda’s cup and if she will drink it. Chae-ok is now the creature, and will she be more humanized, or will she remain the same as her mother was? We don’t know what happened to Myeong-ja’s child either. The post-credit scene also leaves us curious as we are in the future and who is Ho-Jae. Could it be that the experiments have worked and Tae-sang does not die at all? Or is there something bigger? If there is a second season, we will have to wait and get these answers.
