Global, August 15, 2024: ZEE5 Global, the world’s largest streaming platform for South Asian content, is thrilled to announce new releases in honor of the 78th Indian Independence Day. This August 15th, ZEE5 Global Add-ons is all set to launch two compelling new titles: Sarabha on Cpics and Sarpanchi on Chaupal. These additions to the platform offer powerful narratives that celebrate India’s heritage and contemporary stories, providing audiences with exceptional content to commemorate this significant day.
Viewers can look forward to the Punjabi movie Sarabha, a stirring portrayal of India’s first independence movement, spanning continents and showcasing the journey of a young man from Punjab who returns to lead his countrymen against British rule. The film is directed by Kavi Raz and features an ensemble cast including Japtej Singh and Mukul Dev. The film had a theatrical release on November 3, 2023, where it was praised by critics as a powerful reminder of Sarabha’s exceptional contribution to India’s freedom struggle. ZEE5 Global Addons will now stream Sarabha on Cpics and will set the narrative for this Indian Independence day.
Also premiering on August 15th is Sarpanchi, an Original Series by Chaupal, that follows the journey of Bant, a young man played by Jass Bajwa, who finds himself unexpectedly thrust into the whirlwind of Sarpanchi elections. With 6 episodes, each running approximately 32-35 minutes, this show will be available to viewers for the first time on ZEE5 Global Add-ons. Directed and written by Gurpreet Singh Palheri, Sarpanchi is more than just a story; it is a vivid depiction of rural existence, showcasing its triumphs, struggles, and the delicate balance of authority and duty. As Bant navigates the political maze, he must balance his fresh, youthful love with the heavy burden of leadership.
