Three Bad Wolves (2013) Plot Summary & Movie Synopsis:
What Happens to the Little Girl?
The film opens with a group of teenagers entering an abandoned house to play hide and seek. Everything seems fine until one of the girls suddenly goes missing. Suspicion falls on a local schoolteacher, Dror. He is picked up by the police for questioning, but no matter how much they press him, he insists he has no idea what happened to the girl or where she went. The cops don’t believe him and resort to torture, hoping to break him into confessing. After enduring the abuse, the man is eventually released with an apology and a small compensation. However, a video of his interrogation and beating soon finds its way onto YouTube, painting the police department in a bad light.
A few hours later, an anonymous caller supplies the tip that ultimately leads to the discovery of the girl’s dead body by the police. The killer has stripped the girl off her clothes, raped and killed her while she was bound to a chair. On top of that, the girl’s head had been severed from her torso. Because of the posted footage and his inability to apprehend the killer, Micky is demoted and placed on traffic duty shortly after. As for the case, another officer, Rami, is appointed to oversee it.
What Do Micki and Gidi Plan to Do?
From day one, Micki is convinced that the teacher, Dror, had something to do with the girl’s disappearance. But after defying his superiors and with the video of Dror’s interrogation going viral on YouTube, Micki is forced to release him. Despite this, Micki remains certain that Dror is far from the innocent man he claims to be. The suspicion isn’t just limited to the cops. Most of the locals, including Dror’s own students, believe he is guilty. In one scene, his students pass around sketches calling him a pedophile and a murderer. Now stuck with a job he hates, Micki becomes obsessed with proving he was right. The only way to clear his name is to get Dror to confess that he was the one who kidnapped the girl.
When he’s off duty or on holiday, Micki spends his time tailing Dror. He hopes to find any clue that will prove his guilt. However, soon, he is fired. Before leaving, his superior hints that as a civilian, Micki is free to do whatever he wants so long as he doesn’t get caught. Meanwhile, Gidi, the father of the missing girl, shares the same suspicion. Convinced that Dror is responsible, he comes up with a plan to kidnap him. In secret, Gidi rents a secluded house with a basement where he plans to hold Dror and force a confession out of him, and find where Dror is keeping his daughter’s head. Since his daughter was Jewish, her burial could not be completed until her head was recovered. To avoid suspicion, Gidi tells the rental agent that he’s a writer looking for a quiet place to work on his book.
What Does Gidi Do to Dror in the Basement?
However, before Gidi can put his plan into action, Micki gets to Dror first. He kidnaps him, takes him into the woods, and forces him to dig his own grave. With a gun to his head, Micki demands a confession and threatens to pull the trigger if Dror doesn’t comply. But before Micki can do anything else, Gidi arrives, knocks him out, and takes Dror for himself.
When Micki regains consciousness, he decides to join Gidi in extracting a confession from Dror. Together, they strap him to a chair in the basement, taking turns torturing him and demanding to know where he has hidden the decapitated head. But Dror keeps repeating the same thing, that he is innocent. He insists he’s a father himself and could never harm a child. Over time, doubt begins to creep into Micki’s mind. He starts to think, what if Dror is actually telling the truth? When he talks about this with Gidi, the latter ties Micki up as well.
Meanwhile, Gidi’s father, having learned that his son is unwell, arrives at the house. When he discovers Dror in the basement, he agrees to help. While upstairs, Micki quietly suggests to Dror that he give Gidi a false location to buy some time. Eventually, unable to endure the torture any longer, Dror tells Gidi that he buried the head in an abandoned greenhouse, 500 yards from the school, right beneath an exhaust fan.
Three Bad Wolves (2013) Movie Ending Explained:
What Happens to Micki’s Daughter?
After Gidi leaves to search for the abandoned house, he puts his father in charge of watching Dror. However, the old man unknowingly eats a cake laced with sleeping pills and soon passes out. Seizing the opportunity, Micki breaks free from his restraints and prepares to leave. Before he walks out, Dror warns him that if he doesn’t set him free, he’ll regret it for the rest of his life. Micki ignores the threat as desperate bluffing and walks away. Outside, he borrows a passerby’s phone to call the police and report what’s happening. But he receives news that his own daughter is missing. This is when Micki finally understands what Dror meant about living with regret.
Micki rushes back to the house, but Gidi has already returned, furious after realizing he was sent on a wild goose chase. Accepting that Dror will never confess, Gidi decides to make him experience the same horror his daughter endured. In a final act of vengeance, he brutally severs Dror’s head with a saw. Micki arrives just in time to find Dror bleeding profusely.
He tries to stop the bleeding and begs Dror to reveal where his daughter is. But before he can say anything, Dror dies. As the film nears its end, the police raid Dror’s house but find nothing suspicious. However, in the final moments, the camera slowly reveals a hidden compartment behind a false wall; inside, Micki’s daughter lies unconscious.
