Paddington in Peru is the third film in the beloved Paddington series. This time, the marmalade-loving bear travels back to his homeland to visit Aunt Lucy. But the visit turns into an unexpected adventure through jungles, mountains, and hidden trails. The film brings Paddington’s two worlds together — the quiet charm of London and the wild beauty of Peru. What stands out is how Paddington in Peru balances its story with some visually rich and immersive locations. From real Peruvian landscapes to recreated jungle sets and familiar London spots, the film takes its viewers on a journey. While Paddington’s heart remains in Windsor Gardens, this time he’s far from home, exploring the past and creating new memories. Here’s a look at the filming locations, plot details, and cast that shaped Paddington 3.

Plot Overview:

After settling into life with the Brown family in London, Paddington decides to visit Aunt Lucy at the Home for Retired Bears in Peru. But what starts as a simple trip soon leads to an unexpected turn. Paddington, along with the Browns, embarks on a journey through the Peruvian rainforest and the highlands. The visit takes a twist when Aunt Lucy goes missing. As they search for her, they encounter new characters, face challenges, and explore a side of Peru that’s full of mystery and warmth.

The film continues the tone set by the previous two — a mix of light humour, gentle adventure, and moments of real emotion. It also opens a new chapter in Paddington’s story by reconnecting him with his roots.

Paddington in Peru: Where Was the Film Shot? – Filming Locations & Other Details

1. Peru – Rainforest and Highlands

Much of Paddington in Peru was shot on location in Peru. The production team filmed in the Amazon rainforest and the Andean highlands. Scenes featuring the jungle and bear sanctuary were filmed in real rainforests. The train sequence, which plays a key role in the story, was shot in the Cusco region, using the Belmond Hiram Bingham train — the same luxury train that connects to Machu Picchu. The landscapes give the film a sense of scale and depth, while also staying close to Paddington’s origin.

2. Colombia – Jungle Sequences

Although the story is set in Peru, some jungle scenes were filmed in Colombia. The crew used Colombian jungles to capture the dense, green environment needed for the film. These sequences were carefully blended with the Peruvian shots to maintain a consistent look.

3. United Kingdom – Studio and London Streets

As with the earlier films, parts of Paddington 3 were shot at the iconic Pinewood Studios in the UK. Indoor jungle sets, complex scenes, and close-up interactions were filmed here. The film also returns to London briefly, revisiting Windsor Gardens and the Brown family’s home. These scenes help anchor the film in Paddington’s present life, before he sets off to Peru.
