The film opens with a 35-year-old Zuri giving her introduction. Every morning, Zuri visits her company, Movex, which she founded with her best friend, Greg, and distant relative, Brian. After Zuri was born, her parents gave her away to relatives as they were going to die. So, Zuri was moved from one relative to another until she was old enough to take care of herself.
Zuri graduated, and at that time, Greg asked her to date, but she refused. Still, they remain best of friends. Movex delivers to distant and remote places. This is Movex’s specialization, and they are on their way to making a big name in the industry. The one thing that annoys Zuri is that everyone asks her to be a godmother to their children, but Zuri does not have a child of her own, which she wants desperately.
Why does Zuri go to Sitio Halupi?
At the doctor’s, Zuri learns that she does not have much time to bear children, as her eggs are drying up. Furthermore, this can cause Zuri to have a premature menopause. So, Zuri decides to freeze her eggs. At the same time, Zuri decides to urgently get pregnant the natural way without using a sperm donor.
Additionally, Zuri does not want to adopt children as she is afraid the child may grow up and go looking for their birth parents, leaving Zuri alone again. This fear stems from being abandoned all of Zuri’s life. When Zuri tells Greg of her condition, he offers to get Zuri pregnant as long as she hides the information from Greg’s girlfriend. However, Zuri refuses the offer.
At home, Brian is curious why Zuri wants to have a child of her own. The reasoning is simple: women have maternal instincts, and Zuri wants a child who can love her unconditionally. The next day, Brian, Greg, and Zuri drive somewhere when Zuri spots her ex-boyfriend Andy on the road. When Zuri approaches Andy, Andy’s sister, Beybeh, yells at her, thinking she is a salesperson. At the same time, Brian is infatuated with Beybeh.
At home, Zuri tells Brian and Greg that Andy and Zuri dated for about six months. The reason Zuri broke up with Andy was that she discovered he had been abroad without telling her. However, Greg points out that Andy did not seem to recognise Zuri. By then, Brian has found out that Andy lives in Sitio Halupi. Sitio Halupi is located in the countryside and is challenging to reach, as the area seems remote. Still, Zuri heads to the town the next day with a plan to sleep with Andy and get pregnant.
Why does Beybeh not believe in love?
Reaching the location, Zuri spots Andy naked coming out of a spring. Suddenly, Zuri spots a snake and starts to scream, prompting Andy to help Zuri calm down. Later, Andy tells Zuri that he cannot remember her because he has amnesia. At Andy’s house, Zuri meets Beybeh (Andy’s cousin) and Madam Mameng (Andy’s aunt), who enquire why Zuri is looking for Andy after 10 years. So, Zuri says she is still in love with Andy and wants to un-ex him.
After listening to the story, Madam Mameng agrees to let Zuri win over Andy. On a video call that night with Brian and Greg, Zuri says she did not bring enough medicines. The next day, Zuri learns that the people of the village take turns every week to serve as the chief caretaker, addressing the village’s issues. Since the place is remote, government officials find it difficult to access. Taking the opportunity, Zuri asks Andy to teach her how to plant in the fields.
After this, Zuri tries to seduce Andy as much as she can to help fast-forward the plan. Since Zuri is physically falling on Andy to turn him on, Andy seems to start liking Zuri. One day, Andy mentions that the pesticide delivery is going to be late, so Zuri decides to act as a scarecrow to keep the birds away. As Zuri spends time with the family, she learns Beybeh’s father left Madam Mameng for someone else.
Because of this, Beybeh does not believe in true love, nor has a desire to have kids. Suddenly, a neighbour informs the village that a newcomer has arrived. It turns out that Brian has arrived with Zuri’s medicines. However, the medicines are just an excuse as Brian has come to the town to meet Beybeh. That night, Zuri watches a neighbour give birth. When Zuri carries the child, everyone, including Andy, thinks Zuri is suited to be a mother.
How does Andy remember Zuri’s face?
At first, Beybeh ignores Brian, but she soon starts to like him. After spending time in the village, Zuri feels that the people of the town can live better lives. Using Movex, Zuri gets Wi-Fi delivered, so everyone there can access the internet. Slowly, Zuri wins over Andy. Furthermore, Zuri announces that there will be a ceremony to celebrate the opening of a bridge that will connect the coast to the centre. By now, Brian and Beybeh have fallen deeply in love.
The villagers ask Andy when he will formally court Zuri. Looks like Andy has a plan. That night, both Andy and Brian asked Zuri and Beybeh, respectively, to formalize their relationship. While Beybeh accepts the proposal happily, Zuri accepts with an ulterior motive. Later, Zuri learns from Madam Mameng that when Andy came back from Spain, he was in an accident, and after that, Andy developed amnesia. After Zuri’s arrival, the old Andy is back, which makes Madam Mameng happy.
Now, Zuri is filled with guilt, but she does not deter from her mission. Later, Zuri asks Andy to fix her bra hook. At that time, Zuri flirts and indirectly asks Andy if he would like to sleep with her. Since they are alone that night, Andy takes Zuri to his room. Inside the room, there are sketches of Zuri’s face. Andy promises Zuri that he will prove his love for her. They start to kiss, but Andy stops abruptly. When Zuri says she is Andy’s girlfriend, Andy brings food and drink to celebrate their first date.
Now, Andy shows his first sketch of Zuri and reveals that even though he didn’t know whose face it was, Andy knew the girl was important to him. After the accident, Andy used to dream of Zuri. In one dream, Andy sees letters, and in another, he just sees Zuri talking. Although Andy did not decipher the conversation, he could see Zuri. In a flashback, we see Andy calling Zuri from Spain. Because Andy did not inform Zuri about this, Zuri ended their relationship with Andy. After that, Zuri burns all the letters and postcards from Andy.

Upset, Zuri walks out of the house. When Andy questions Zuri, she says Andy’s words made her remember bad memories. Now, Zuri reveals that it was because of Zuri that Andy had the accident. It turns out that, because of the breakup, Andy came back home, rushing to meet Zuri. That’s when Andy met with an accident. Despite that, Andy wants to be with Zuri. So, Zuri decides to come clean and explain why she came to meet Andy.
Hearing this, Andy is upset as Zuri has come back to him because Zuri’s uterus is drying up. Furthermore, Zuri tries to explain that everyone who has said they loved her has left, so she does not have space to love anyone. Annoyed, Andy hopes Zuri does not feel the way he feels and also hopes Zuri’s child is proud of their mother, who is incapable of feeling love.
These words hit Zuri hard, but she goes back to Manila, leaving Andy devastated. At the doctor’s, Zuri says she will revisit the dream of having a child when she is ready, but is thankful for having her eggs frozen. At the office, Greg asks Zuri to be the godmother to his child. Now, Zuri and Brian head back to Sitio Halupi with the construction group to celebrate the commencement of the bridge construction.
After the ceremony, Brian and Beybeh continue to date, and Zuri and Andy talk. It looks like Zuri hurting Andy made him remember the past, including the time Zuri and Andy met, as well as Andy’s pursuit of Zuri. Any lingering feelings Zuri has come to a halt when Andy reveals he is leaving for Germany as he has gotten a job there. In the last scene, Zuri asks for forgiveness and thanks Andy for teaching her how to love. As they watch the sunset, they say, “Until we meet again”.
In the end, Zuri and Andy don’t get back together, although it seems they still love each other dearly. Unfortunately, Zuri lost the love of her life because she was desperate to have only one child because of a dying uterus. Despite all the problems, Andy gets back his memory, and Zuri finally learns what it means to be in love.
For now, Zuri has given up the idea of having a child, but she has nothing to worry about as her eggs are frozen. In case Zuri changes her mind or when she is ready, she can always have a child. It’s not a goodbye, as there is a chance for them to remain friends or acquaintances. Even though they both learnt valuable lessons, they can’t be together, which is okay. The film’s ending may seem bittersweet, but it is pretty realistic, as not everyone you love will be compatible.
