Production
Jan Komasa directs the film from a screenplay written by Lori Rosene-Gambino and Jan Komasa. Filming began in July 2023 in Dublin, Ireland, despite initial disruptions from the 2023 WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike, after which the production was allowed to continue with a waiver.
Super Mario Galaxy Movie is produced by Illumination and Nintendo, with Universal Pictures handling global distribution. Series composer Brian Tyler returns, expected to weave classic Mario themes into a new galactic score.
