Off Campus (Season 1) Episode 1 ‘The Deal’ Recap:

What is the show ‘Off Campus’ really about?

The premiere episode begins at Briar University, where hockey star Garrett Graham works hard during practice while Hannah Wells quietly works behind the scenes at the arena. One awkward moment changes everything when Hannah accidentally walks into the men’s locker room and sees Garrett naked in the shower while collecting towels. Embarrassed, she quickly rushes out. The next day, Hannah realizes Garrett is in her class. Most students fail an assignment, but Hannah passes, which catches Garrett’s attention. He asks her to tutor him so he can improve his grades and stay on the hockey team, but she refuses at first. At the same time, Hannah learns she has lost her scholarship because of budget cuts. Hoping to stay at Briar, she decides to enter the Pop Showcase competition for a new scholarship opportunity. Outside class, Hannah struggles with her crush on Justin Kohl while Garrett spends time partying with his teammates Dean, Logan, and Tucker. Garrett also has problems with his father Phil, a former hockey player whom he clearly resents.

Flashbacks reveal painful memories from Garrett’s childhood involving his parents. Hannah also struggles with difficult memories from high school that still affect her deeply. As the episode continues, Garrett keeps trying to convince Hannah to tutor him, even offering to pay her. During a hockey game, Garrett becomes distracted by his memories and performs badly. Meanwhile, Hannah has a panic attack after seeing a man at the arena who reminds her of her past. She calms herself by playing piano in a private room, where Garrett quietly watches her sing and feels comforted by the moment. Later at a party, Garrett pretends to be Hannah’s boyfriend to help her talk to Justin. The two finally open up to each other about their personal lives and growing emotional struggles. By the end of the episode, Hannah finally agrees to Garrett’s tutoring deal after a near-kiss brings them closer together.

Off Campus (Season 1) Episode 2 ‘The Practice’ Recap:

Can Garrett and Hannah stay fake?

Episode 2 kicks off with Hannah and Garrett trying to figure out the rules of their fake relationship. Garrett quickly takes things seriously by exchanging phone numbers with Hannah, taking a selfie with her, and giving her the nickname “Wellsy.” However, they still need to convince everyone that the relationship is real, especially Jules, who runs the hockey gossip account called The Fifth Line. Later, Hannah goes to Garrett’s house to help him study. She meets his friends and realizes Garrett is smarter than he lets people believe, even if he struggles with philosophy. At the same time, Allie starts feeling unhappy in her relationship with Sean because she wants more excitement, while he prefers staying comfortable with their routine. The next day, Hannah receives criticism for her Pop Showcase song during music class. Garrett arrives late but makes a point of showing affection toward Hannah in front of Justin. Their fake relationship becomes even more noticeable after Hannah accidentally knocks Garrett’s huge water bottle down the lecture hall stairs.

Plans soon begin for a birthday party where Hannah and Garrett decide to officially reveal their relationship. Hannah starts attending Garrett’s hockey practices and learns from Coach Jensen how hard Garrett works for his place on the team. Garrett also helps Hannah practice staying calm whenever he flirts with her. During one practice session, they even rehearse kissing before Logan unexpectedly walks in. At a hockey party, Hannah struggles with being around alcohol because of painful memories from high school. Garrett notices her discomfort and quietly supports her without pressuring her. Meanwhile, Allie briefly shares a fun dance with Dean before pulling away. Later, Hannah and Garrett pretend to escape upstairs together when Justin arrives at the party. Instead of hooking up, they spend the night talking honestly about their lives, music, and hockey. Garrett comforts Hannah by sharing how much her singing helped him during a difficult moment. By morning, both of them are clearly growing closer, even if neither fully admits it yet.

Off Campus (Season 1) Episode 3 ‘The Orgasm’ Recap:

Can Justin compete with Garrett?

Episode 3 begins with Hannah preparing to work on songs with Justin, but before anything really happens, the episode reveals that their passionate kiss and hookup are only a fantasy in her head. In reality, Hannah changes her plans with Garrett so she can meet Justin for their first real songwriting session. Garrett acts supportive during their phone call and encourages her to feel confident, although it is obvious he feels jealous about the situation. At the same time, Garrett is struggling with pressure from his hockey team to improve his grades while also avoiding a sports drink brand deal connected to his father. During the songwriting session, Hannah explains the emotions behind her song, which clearly seem inspired by her feelings for Justin. Meanwhile, Allie shares exciting news with Sean after signing with the same agent as Broadway star Joanna Maxwell. However, Sean becomes upset because he wanted her to settle down with him instead of chasing bigger dreams. Later, Hannah visits Garrett’s house and learns Logan secretly fixed her car earlier.

When she goes upstairs to see Garrett, she accidentally walks in on him with another girl and quickly leaves embarrassed. Garrett runs after her outside, and the two eventually smooth things over before Hannah leaves to meet Justin. Justin later works on Hannah’s song and accidentally discovers a Spotify playlist Hannah made about him. Humiliated, Hannah panics and later starts thinking more about Garrett instead. Garrett eventually gives his oral presentation in class and earns a B+, which he celebrates with Hannah afterward. That night at karaoke, Hannah gets drunk after Garrett promises to look after her and her drinks. She performs “Cherry Pie” on stage and completely wins over the crowd. The romantic tension between her and Garrett grows stronger afterward. Later, when they are forced to spend the night at Garrett’s house, Hannah drunkenly tries to sleep with him while wearing his hockey jersey, but Garrett gently refuses because she is intoxicated. Off Campus (Season 1) Episode 4 ‘The Orgasm’ Recap:

Why is Logan jealous of Garrett?

After asking him to help her experience intimacy again, Hannah explains that she was drugged and raped in high school. Although therapy helped her deal with the trauma emotionally, she still struggles physically whenever she gets close to another man. Garrett listens carefully without judging her or asking unnecessary questions. He simply agrees to help because he cares about her and wants her to feel safe. Meanwhile, Dean and Beau continue hazing Tucker with a strange fraternity challenge involving different fruits that keep getting bigger whenever he fails. At the same time, Daveed encourages Hannah to write more honestly in her music and create songs that truly reflect her feelings. Elsewhere, Allie breaks up with Sean for good, even though he refuses to believe the breakup is serious. Later that night, Hannah arrives at Garrett’s house nervous about what is about to happen between them. Garrett does everything he can to make her comfortable, including turning away while she changes clothes and playing music to calm the mood.

As they kiss and get closer, Garrett notices Hannah becoming overwhelmed and stops immediately. Instead of pushing her, he gently suggests another way for her to feel comfortable and regain control of the moment. Hannah is finally able to relax and achieve what she wanted, which becomes a huge emotional step forward for her. Afterward, they eat together downstairs and talk casually, but things already feel different between them. Garrett’s friends later encourage him to admit his feelings for Hannah, while Logan quietly struggles with his own feelings for her too. At Drunk Shakespeare, tensions rise between Garrett, Hannah, Justin, and Kendall during a chaotic audience performance. Justin eventually asks Hannah out, but instead of feeling excited, she realizes her feelings for Garrett are much stronger. By the end of the episode, Hannah tracks Garrett down at the hockey rink and sings to him from the commentator’s booth. Garrett smiles the moment he sees her, and the emotional moment leaves their future relationship hanging in the air.
