Austin Butler is not an unknown name in the film industry, but with his recent appearance in Denis Villeneuve’s sequel film Dune: Part Two, the actor has indeed experienced a meteoric rise in his career, along with wide-spread recognition. Austin Butler has secured another greater role in his career in Darren Aronofsky’s new film, Caught Stealing.

What do we know about Darren Aronofsky’s Caught Stealing, starring Austin Butler?

After working with celebrated filmmakers like Baz Luhrmann and Denis Villeneuve, actor Austin Butler is all set to collaborate with another renowned filmmaker. Butler will soon be seen in Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming crime thriller film Caught Stealing. The film is an adaptation of Charlie Huston’s 2004 novel of the same name, which is part of his Hank Thompson series.

Aronofsky is primarily known for directing psychological thrillers or dramas. His notable work includes films like The Whale, Requiem for a Dream, and Black Swan. While talking about his upcoming film, Aronofsky expressed his excitement, saying, “I am excited to be teaming up with my old friends at Sony Pictures to bring Charlie’s adrenaline-soaked roller coaster ride to life. I can’t wait to start working with Austin and my family of NYC filmmakers.”

President of Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group Sanford Panitch also expressed admiration for Aronofsky’s work, saying, “Darren is one of the most brilliant audiovisual storytellers in the world, and adapting these wonderful books by Charlie Huston for Austin to star in was too exciting an opportunity to not be a part of.”

The upcoming film centers around Henry “Hank” Thompson, a former baseball player, as he is thrown into the criminal underworld of the ’90s in New York City. The book series includes three books, with Six Bad Things, released in 2005, and A Dangerous Man in 2006. Author Charlie Huston pens the script for Caught Stealing, and the project will be produced under the production banner of Protozoa.

Butler is currently filming for Ari Aster’s upcoming A24 film, Eddington, as well as The Bikeriders, in which he will star alongside Tom HardyAs of now, there is no official release date for the upcoming Caught Stealing adaptation, but Butler’s performance can be enjoyed in  Dune: Part Two, which is currently in theaters.
