Brad Pitt and George Clooney, two iconic actors in the film industry, are set to reunite in Apple TV+’s upcoming thriller Wolfs. The film marks their first collaboration in over 15 years, as the two were previously seen gracing the screen together in the Ocean’s franchise and 2008’s Burn After Reading.
To fans’ astonishment, a teaser for Wolfs was released yesterday, igniting the anticipation among the audience. The clip provided us with a glimpse of the upcoming trailer, which is set to be released on Wednesday. Sony’s official X account shared the first look video, which shows Clooney and Pitt stuck in a car together, with the windshield wipers providing the only sound in the clip.
Though the character names that will be portrayed by Clooney and Pitt remain under wraps for now, the two were previously reported to be playing lone-wolf professional fixers who find themselves assigned to the same job.
What do we know about Brad Pitt & George Clooney’s upcoming Apple TV+ thriller ‘Wolfs’?
Made under the directorial vision of Jon Walts, Wolfs was announced back in September 2021, indicating that Walts will be serving as the director and writer of the then-untitled project. While we will get to witness Pitt and Clooney in the film, the two will also be co-producing the film. Pitt has been busy with producing projects like Netflix’s sci-fi series 3 Body Problem and the biopic Bob Marley: One Love. Meanwhile, Clooney directed The Boys in a Boat and is set to make his Broadway debut with Good Night and Good Luck.
The production of Wolfs began in January 2023 in New York City but was briefly halted in July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike and resumed only when the strike ended.
The man behind the camera, Watts is an acclaimed filmmaker and screenwriter. His credits include directing the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) superhero films Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He also directed and co-wrote the horror film Clown and thriller film Cop Car as well as directing numerous episodes of the parody television news series Onion News Network.
Apart from Clooney and Pitt, the upcoming film features an ensemble cast including Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, and Poorna Jagannathan. Meanwhile, Larkin Seiple serves as cinematographer for the film.
Apple TV+ acquired the rights to the film after winning a studio bidding war against studios, including Sony Pictures. Following their partnership on Ridley Scott’s historical epic, Napoleon, Apple entered another agreement with Sony Pictures Releasing to distribute the film in theatres.
Wolfs is scheduled to be released in the United States on September 20, 2024.
