It feels old as I mention that the beloved rom-com film 10 Things I Hate About You completes 25 years. The film was released in 1999, marking the directorial debut of Gil Junger. The film featured an ensemble cast including Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Larisa Oleynik. Since the film has completed its Silver Anniversary, the young and charming actors we saw on the screen have also grown up. Obviously, in 25 years, a lot changes, and everyone gets busy in their life. But what never changes is the memories made. The film’s actor, David Krumholtz, reflected on the old-good days and opened up about his relationships with his 10 Things castmates. The actor also called the late actor Heath Ledger “a sweetheart,” who was a crucial part of the film’s star cast.
David Krumholtz talks about his bond with the cast of ’10 Things I Hate About You

On the occasion of the film’s 25th anniversary, actor David Krumholtz talked about one connection with the cast member of the 1999 film, which he has maintained to date. Krumholtz shared that actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt stays “in touch” with him to this very day. During the conversation with ComicBook.com, the actor said, “Joe and I keep in touch — Joe Gordon-Levitt. Every once in a while, I reconnect with Andrew Keegan.
Gabrielle Union is wonderful, and I was very close to her when we made the film, but every time I Tweet at her or send her a DM, she never answers. So, I think she wrote me off… which is fine. I can handle that. I wouldn’t blame her, and I don’t blame her. Oh-so busy. She’s so damn busy [laughter]. Anyway, I’m not resentful at all… I’m not sure you can tell. And Larisa Oleynik, I keep in touch with here and there.”
During the same conversation, Krumholtz also mentioned the late actor Heath Ledger, who co-starred with him in 10 Things I Hate About You.
When a question was posed before him regarding Ledger, he said, “I don’t like answering questions about Heath Ledger. ‘What was Heath like?’ None of your business. It’s none of your business. The man is dead. He was a sweetheart; he was my friend. People want stories about him, and those are private because he’s passed.”
10 Things I Hate About You is a teen romantic comedy film that follows the story of student Cameron James (Gordon-Levitt), who is smitten with Bianca Stratford (Oleynik) and attempts to get bad boy Patrick Verona (Ledger) to date her antisocial sister Kat (Stiles) to circumvent her father’s strict dating rules.
