Following the huge success of the first film, creating the soundtrack for Dune: Part 2 (2024) may seem daunting. However, for Hans Zimmer, the composer, continuing to work on Villeneuve’s saga was a natural progression. “When we finished the first movie, I just continued on writing because I didn’t want to leave the world,” Zimmer said. “And I came up with the theme, which is now very much the theme for this movie.”
The much-anticipated Dune: Part 2, starring ensamble of Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem, and Christopher Walken released last friday to rave reviews and – and now it is taking the box office by storm. Dune: Part Two, which picks up where Dune: Part One left off, follows anti-hero Paul Atreides (Chalamet) and Fremen warrior Chani (Zendaya) as they wage war against House Harkonnen.

The Dune: Part Two soundtrack will be released as both a double-LP and double-CD set. Both versions will include exclusive liner notes from Zimmer and director Denis Villeneuve. Mutant teamed up with WaterTower Music label to release Dune: Part Two (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The soundtrack is available to preorder on the Mutant website on Friday, March 1, which will see its first pressing ships on May 24.
