Go Ahead, Brother (Idz przodem, bracie, 2024) Episode 1 Recap:
The first episode of “Go Ahead, Brother” opens with the police unit on a mission. During the mission, Oskar constantly hears a high-pitched ringing noise from his headphones. The noise intensifies just as the criminal enters the room with a gun. Precisely at this point, Oskar has a panic attack. In this mission, Oskar is supposed to cover for Sokol. However, because of the panic attack, Sokol is shot. Oskar’s superiors question him about what went on during the mission. However, Oskar is unable to explain. As the news comes out that Sokol is dead, the superior gets angry and provokes Oskar. When this happens, Oskar starts hitting his superior, leading to his dismissal from the police force.
At home, Oskar’s father has a gambling addiction, and most of the time, Oskar repays his father’s debt. Since Oskar has a bad day, when his father asks if he should kill himself, Oskar asks him to go ahead with the idea. The following day, Oskar’s father kills himself. After the father’s death, Oskar and his sister Martha debate whether they should sell their ancestral home.
Oskar remains emotional, and he is against selling the house. But Martha reminds Oskar that they have many debts to repay because of their father. Furthermore, Martha and Oskar learn that their father has been paying a loan shark monthly, and the debt is high. Despite all the troubles, Oskar is unwilling to sell the house.
Who is Oskar tracking?
Two months later, Oskar gets a job as a security guard at a mall. There, he is interested in a woman, Yeva. One day, the Tax and Customs officers arrive at the mall, and Yeva’s boss bribes the officers. Moreover, Yeva’s boss makes a lot of money, and Oskar is tempted to steal when he looks at the cash bundle.
Meanwhile, Sylwek (Martha’s husband and Oskar’s colleague in the police force) does not answer Oskar’s calls as he is mad for not helping them by selling the house, mainly because Martha is pregnant. At the mall, Oskar offers Yeva a ride home, but she refuses, preferring to bike instead. That night, all of Sylwek’s police buddies hang out at Sylwek’s house, and it’s his birthday. There, Oskar also arrives and apologizes for what happened with Sokol.
At that moment, everyone gets a work call for a mission, and Oskar’s heart breaks as he is no longer part of the team. Once the group leaves, Martha brings up selling the house, so Oskar gets mad and leaves. The police’s target is to capture a Georgian in a hotel. When they see an unauthorized server enter Georgian’s room, the police begin their mission.
However, upon arrival, they find the Georgian dead. Elsewhere, Oskar has taken a job working in a brothel. As he is cleaning a sink, a man appears from a room. It turns out it is Yeva’s boss Grzesiek Czorny. Now Oskar follows Grzesiek home. After that, Oskar sneaks into the police station and steals some equipment. Once again, Oskar returns to Grzesiek’s house and places trackers under their cars.
Who rescues Oskar?
On one occasion, Oskar sees Grzesiek beating a driver for stealing from them. At the mall, Oskar notices Grzesiek pay money to his father, Czorny Senior. Once Czorny leaves, Oskar punctures Yeva’s bike tire. Soon, Oskar uses a drone to see how the interiors of Czorny’s house look. Later that day, Oskar drops Yeva home as her bike tire is punctured. That night, Sylwek and Oskar meet, and Oskar jokingly says he will steal from a thief. After an argument about money, Oskar and Sylwek part ways. In Czorny’s house, Damian visits, so Czorny asks Damian to decide who he works for – if it is for family or Bogdan.
The reason Czorny asks this is because Damian’s action of killing Georgian is because the cops were following him. Once Damian and Oleg leave, Oskar enters the house, knocks Grzesiek unconscious, and attacks Czorny. After that, Oskar finds cash bundles inside aquariums. Just as Oskar is packing, Oleg comes back and sees Czorny tied up, so Oleg pulls out his gun. Now, Oleg and Oskar fight each other. Once again, at a crucial moment, Oskar’s ears start ringing. At that time, gunshots are heard, and Oskar thinks he is shot, but Sylwek enters the house.
