IFC Films has announced the highly anticipated streaming digital release of their horror sensation, In a Violent Nature. After making its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and hitting US theaters to widespread acclaim, this Canadian slasher film, written and directed by Chris Nash, will soon be available on VOD and digital platforms.
The film stars Ry Barrett, Andrea Pavlovic, and Lauren-Marie Taylor, and offers a chilling narrative that follows a mute killer resurrected from his grave in the Ontario wilderness by a group of teenagers, who then become his prey. The story is uniquely portrayed from the killer’s perspective, adding a haunting depth to this “ambient slasher.”
What is ‘In a Violent Nature’ about?
When a locket is removed from a collapsed fire tower deep in the woods, it unleashes the vengeful spirit of Johnny, a victim of a horrific crime buried for 60 years. Johnny’s corpse, now reanimated, becomes fixated on retrieving the stolen locket. Fueled by rage, the undead golem relentlessly hunts down the group of vacationing teenagers who took it, mercilessly slaughtering them one by one. Anyone who stands in his way faces the same gruesome fate as Johnny embarks on his blood-soaked quest for vengeance.
What is the digital streaming release date for ‘In a Violent Nature’?
Following its world premiere at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and a successful theatrical run starting May 31st, In a Violent Nature, the IFC Films’ acclaimed horror hit will be available for digital streaming from June 28th, 2024.
Is ‘In a Violent Nature’ on Netflix, Prime Video, or Max?
No. ‘I Used to Be Funny’ is not streaming on any of the streaming platforms yet. Since this is an IFC Films horror release, it’s unlikely it will hit Netflix, Prime Video, or Max. The film, however, should start streaming in the coming months on IFC’s horror-centric platform Shudder.
