The final Jackass movie is almost here. Jackass: Best and Last will hit theaters on June 26, 2026. Paramount Pictures just dropped the first trailer on April 27, and fans have one big question. Is Bam Margera in the new Jackass movie? The answer is yes and no. He appears in the film, but not the way you might expect.
The Short Answer: Yes, But Only in Archival Footage

Bam Margera is in Jackass: Best and Last. But he did not film any new stunts for this movie. His appearance comes entirely through never-before-seen archival footage from past Jackass productions.
This is the first Jackass movie where Margera did not film anything new. He was barely in the last film, Jackass Forever (2022), because he got fired early in production. Now, the distance between him and the crew has only grown. But the new movie mixes old and new footage. That means we get to see Margera through the lens of the past.
Why Bam Margera Isn’t Filming New Stunts
The story goes back to Jackass Forever. Margera signed a strict “wellness agreement” that required regular drug and alcohol tests. He claims he was coerced into signing it while he was in rehab in 2019. Paramount fired him from the movie after he tested positive for Adderall, a drug he says he had taken by prescription for a decade.
Margera later sued the Jackass team and Paramount. He eventually dropped the lawsuit. But the bad feelings stayed. In 2025, he said no amount of money could get him back on a Jackass set. The damage, he said, had already been done.
Margera Signed a Deal for Archival Footage
The feud cooled down enough for business to happen. Earlier in 2026, Margera signed a deal with Paramount and the Jackass team. He agreed to let them use archival footage of him in the new movie. That footage includes scenes he shot for Jackass Forever before he got fired. It also includes old clips from the MTV show and earlier movies that fans have never seen before.
When TMZ asked him about the deal, Margera gave a blunt answer. “Hell yeah, go for it,” he said. He added that he filmed so much crazy stuff over the years that never made it into the movies simply because it was too long or too gnarly. He told them to have at it.
What the Trailer Shows
The first trailer for Jackass: Best and Last landed on April 27. It is full of mayhem. Johnny Knoxville introduces an “escape room from hell.” Steve-O gets an uncomfortable exam from a two-legged robot. The new cast members look completely insane.
Then there is Margera. He appears in a couple of quick shots. Sharp eyed fans noticed that these scenes are not from any Jackass movie they have seen before. That is the point. The footage is archival, but it is brand new to audiences. The trailer does not show Margera with the rest of the group in any new stunts. He is isolated to the past.
What Is Jackass: Best and Last About?
This is the fifth main Jackass movie. Johnny Knoxville has said this will be the final one. The film mixes new stunts with the franchise’s greatest hits and never-before-seen outtakes from past productions. That includes material from the original MTV show and all four previous movies. Think of it as a greatest hits compilation with a bonus disc of deleted scenes. The official synopsis calls it a “joyously raucous celebration” of 25 years of idiots hurting themselves for your entertainment.
The Full Cast of the Final Jackass Movie
The returning cast includes almost everyone from Jackass Forever. Johnny Knoxville leads the group. Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Dave England, Ehren McGhehey, and Preston Lacy are all back. The newer generation is also there. Rachel Wolfson, Jasper, Compston Wilson (Dark Shark), Sean McInerney (Poopies), and Zach Holmes all appear. Eric Manaka is the only one who did not return.
Margera is not listed as a cast member for new material. His role in the film is limited to what the editors could pull from the archives.
Jackass: Best and Last Release Date
The movie comes out on June 26, 2026. Paramount Pictures will release it exclusively in theaters. There is no word yet on when it will hit streaming. But given Paramount’s usual schedule, expect it on Paramount+ sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. The trailer is already online. You can watch it on YouTube.
Why Fans Are Confused About Margera
The confusion is understandable. The trailer shows Margera doing a stunt that no one has seen before. But he is nowhere in the group shots. That is because he did not participate in any of the new filming. His presence is purely a ghost from the past. The archival footage deal covers scenes from Jackass Forever that were cut, plus older material from the MTV era. So yes, he is in the movie. But no, he is not part of the final farewell in any active way.
How the Feud Started
Margera’s struggles with substance abuse became public after the death of his close friend Ryan Dunn in a 2011 car accident. Things got worse over the years. The wellness agreement was supposed to keep him healthy. Instead, it became the fuse for a long, painful legal battle. Margera has said he suffers from PTSD over the whole ordeal. He told TMZ, “The humiliation, the abandonment and just the embarrassment of it all, I had to let it go”.
Johnny Knoxville has taken a softer tone. In a Rolling Stone interview, he said, “I hear he’s doing a lot better, and that makes me happy, because we’ve been through so much together and I love him”. But the two men have not reconciled publicly. The archival deal appears to be purely financial, not personal.
