— Neeraj Pandey, in an interview:

Where the Show Was Shot?

The film was extensively shot in Kolkata, capturing key locations like Prinsep Ghat, Vidyasagar Setu, Howrah Bridge, and the settlements along the Hooghly River. Some major scenes were also filmed in Kidderpore.

In an interview, Neeraj Pandey shared why he chose Kolkata for this chapter of the Khakee series. The first installment focused on Bihar, but this time, he wanted to revisit his childhood. Having grown up in Kolkata, he saw this as a way to reconnect with the city’s past. More than just nostalgia, his choice was driven by the city’s history. In the early 2000s, Kolkata was marked by political unrest and violent gang wars. Pandey wanted to bring that atmosphere to the screen.

Is It Based on a True Story?

While Khakee: The Bengal Chapter draws inspiration from real-life events and the socio-political climate of early 2000s Bengal, it is a fictional narrative crafted to reflect the era’s challenges. The series aims to provide an engaging and realistic portrayal of the complexities faced by law enforcement during that period.
