Based on the screenplay by P.G. Cuschieri, “The Mother” retells the story of an immigrant mother and businesswoman, Ann (played by Michelle Yeoh), who is trying to make the best of life for her family in the US. The synopsis of the film reads, “But when her two teenage sons stumble into trouble with a Boston crime ring, she’s forced to rekindle her past to save them.”
As suggested by the description of the film, the premise of the film deals with the story of a mother, who is ready to face any danger to protect her family. The plot seems promising, and the appearance of Yeoh as the lead protagonist of the film makes it a plus point for the success of the film.
Other films included in AGC’s EFM roster:
Like “The Mother,” various other films fall under the high-octane action thriller genre, including “The Epiphany” and “Sugar Bandits.” “The Epiphany” stars Sylvester Stallone in the lead role, where he plays the role of a seasoned police detective. Based on the screenplay by Katie Lovejoy and Russell Sommer, the film is directed by Eubank. The premise of the film revolves around a hard-headed police detective who collaborates with a younger cop and former priest to stop a serial killer on a murderous crusade.
Meanwhile, “Sugar Bandits” will feature Oscar-winning actor Will Smith in the lead role. Smith will be seen portraying the former Special Forces soldier who joins an elite vigilante squad aiming to wipe out the drug trade in Boston but soon learns things are not what they seem.
