Minions & Monsters is an upcoming American animated monster comedy film from Illumination, directed by Pierre Coffin and set for theatrical release on July 1, 2026. Production

Pierre Coffin directs from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian Lynch, who previously penned Minions and The Secret Life of Pets films. The film is produced by Illumination founder Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan, with Lynch as executive producer. Announced in July 2024 alongside Despicable Me 4’s release, it was originally slated for June 30, 2027, before moving forward to fill a slot vacated by Shrek 5.​

Release Date

Minions & Monsters hits theaters in the United States on July 1, 2026, distributed by Universal Pictures. It will stream on Peacock for the first four months of its pay-TV window, then on Netflix for ten months, before returning to Peacock.​
