“My Acting Coach Nightmare” is a thriller drama about Sienna, who is passionate about acting and finds a workshop across town taught by Max Frost, who has industry experience (in Hollywood). Sienna is excited and listens to her coach over anybody as he sees the star she is, which others, including her mother, do not notice or appreciate. Sienna’s mother, Lisa, has a strong maternal instinct and is never happy with Sienna taking part in the workshop. However, things go south when Sienna leaves town with Max to get a big break in Hollywood.

The film opens with a landscape of a house by the lake. Sienna is holding an acting workshop brochure, and the tutor is Max Frost. Lisa is working on some tech-related things for her job. Sienna interrupts her to share something. Seeing what she is doing, she calls her a nerd. Sienna tells her mother that one play a year in school will not help her get into good acting colleges. Her friend, Amy from the drama club, introduces her to the acting workshop across the town.
Sienna is excited as the coach, Max Frost, is an industry veteran. The workshop offers much more than acting lessons like headshots. Sienna has also filled out the paperwork to join the workshop. Lisa is worried and asks Sienna to take the freedom to be a kid for another year. But Sienna insists that such workshops will add credibility to get into good colleges and that what she enjoys doing is acting. Lisa tells her that she will think about it, but Sienna takes it as a yes.
Lisa talks to her boyfriend Mark about Sienna’s decision and tells him she worries that Sienna had taken up acting after her late husband Steven had died. However, Mark is on Sienna’s side and convinces Lisa to let Sienna take the workshop. Lisa shares the good news with Sienna provided she keeps up her good grades in school. Sienna comes to the art center and finds Amy. Amy shows her the stage, and Sienna is in awe. Sienna asks about the learning, and Max Frost overhears it, and Amy introduces them.
Max tells the class about acting and reacting techniques, and he calls Haley on stage to demonstrate. The entire room is quiet, watching them in sync without saying a word to each other. Amy tells Sienna that she is the star of the class. Sienna compliments Haley on how good she is on stage. The rest of the class uses the same technique. Lisa comes to the art center to pick Sienna up, and Sienna is excited about the workshop. Sienna teases her mother for assuming she is talking about Romeo and Juliet in the film instead of Shakespeare literature.
The next day in the workshop, Haley looks deranged, but she is supposed to play the role of Juliet and Alex the role of Romeo. Haley doesn’t do a good job, and it is apparent. Amy and Sienna are practicing their roles, and Max takes notice of Sienna and compliments her, saying it’s a shame she has to play the role of the nurse with such beauty and talent. At night, Amy and Sienna are talking, and Amy seems to be jealous of the attention Sienna is getting.
The next day, Max announces that Haley will no longer be joining the group because of personal matters. He asks Amy not to do any English accents and picks Sienna to play the role of Juliet. Sienna is thrilled and cannot contain her excitement. They finish the day’s workshop, and Amy and Sienna see Haley and Max fighting across the street. Amy seems concerned, wondering if they should interfere, but Sienna is not too bothered.
Lisa comes to pick Sienna up and she tells her about the fight between Haley and Max. Lisa finds it odd that Max is so expressive with his students. Sienna shares the big news of playing Juliet’s role. Lisa finds this news odd as well. Sienna has just started taking the workshop, and it’s very quick for her to get the lead role. Sienna is upset because she thinks her mother does not believe in her talent.
The next day, Amy is keeping a distance from Sienna. Max is unhappy with Alex as he does not give everything for the role. He decides to demonstrate the role of Romeo with Sienna. He starts saying his lines and holds her hand as required by the role to show Alex how it’s done. After the session, Max asks Sienna if she wants them to stay back and rehearse the lines to get better at the craft, and Sienna agrees. Lisa waits at home, restless. Sienna comes home an hour late and apologizes for not calling and keeping her phone on silent.
Later that day, Sienna tells Mark and Lisa that she was working with Max after the session. This does not sit well with Lisa as Sienna is a teenager, and she was unsupervised. Lisa asks Mark to pay a visit to Max and figure out the sort of person he is. Mark speaks to Max, and he apologizes for not sending a notice prior, and the situation was different the previous day. Mark tells Lisa that Max seems like a nice guy. Lisa and Sienna get into a fight because Mark is paying a visit to the art center.
At night, Max breaks into a car and leaves an envelope inside and leaves. The next morning, Sienna takes permission to stay a little after the session, and Lisa gives her permission. Sienna talks to Max about Hollywood and her dreams. Subsequently, Max assures her that she has the talent and beauty that Hollywood needs. He decides to take some headshots to help her achieve her dreams. Sienna is hesitant but gives in.
After a few pictures, Max asks her to remove her sweater, as photos with sex appeal will help in Hollywood. Sienna is uncomfortable, but Max smoothly talks her to it. Sienna gets back home, and she is visibly finding it hard to process the events of the day. However, she is happy seeing her headshots. She gets a call and gets out of the room. Lisa walks in and sees the headshots. She is happy until she sees the ones without the sweater on. She thinks it’s inappropriate, and Sienna tells her she lied to her because Lisa never trusted her. They get into a fight, and Sienna runs out of the house.
Sienna rushes to Max, and they hug, and he consoles her. Mark fumes as he approaches the art center, asking Max to stay away from Sienna. Max tells Mark that he is the culprit making parents and students uncomfortable as he is secretly clicking pictures of the students from the art center. Mark denies everything and does not understand what is going on. He brings Sienna home, and Sienna repeats what Max said about Mark. Mark is hoping Lisa understands him as he did not do any such thing. That night, Lisa checks Mark’s car, finds the envelope, and kicks Mark out of the house.
The next morning, Lisa asks Sienna to take a step back, but she fights her mother and says she is jealous of her and she does not believe in her. Sienna also accuses her of not understanding her passion and getting in the way of her dreams. Sienna reaches the art center, and Amy taunts her for showing up after bringing a creep like Mark near them. She tells Amy and the others that if they need attention, they need to be better at acting, and Max overhears the conversation and stops them.
Mark visits Lisa and tries to explain that he had nothing to do with the photographs and he didn’t have a reason to ruin everything he built with her and Sienna. Lisa is heartbroken and unable to process anything and asks him to leave. Max suggests to Sienna that if she thinks it’ll be helpful, he will be happy to take her out someplace to talk. At home, Lisa and Sienna are having a heart-to-heart conversation. When Lisa suggests that when Sienna goes off to college she will have good professors helping her, Sienna misunderstands her and starts a fight again.
Max takes Sienna out and asks her to drink wine even though he knows she is below the legal age. He tells her that it’s okay to break some rules once in a while. Max tells her Amy is not a friend and she is just jealous of her. He asks her to go to Hollywood with him and not ask her mother’s permission, as he has a circle of people who believe in some ideals and help everyone grow to their full potential. Furthermore, he gives her a back massage. Most of the time through the conversation, Sienna is uncomfortable, but she lets Max talk her into it.
Lisa is fast asleep, and she wakes up to realize it is dark outside. In Sienna’s bedroom, she finds a note saying she is in Hollywood with Max. She asks Amy if she knows anything, but she doesn’t, she takes Haley’s number from her. In Hollywood, Max gifts Sienna a revealing dress and tells her to put it on as she has to meet important people that night. Lisa meets Haley, who is hesitant to say anything to her. When Lisa mentions Max had taken Sienna to Hollywood she tears up.
Haley reveals that his residence is in Hollywood, and he is smart and charming. He is a fantastic actor who knows how to get what he wants. She tells him about the influential circle of people he has, and they take inappropriate pictures of girls and keep them in their control. Max and her fight because he threatens her that if she were to reveal the incident to anyone, he would leak the photographs. She gives Lisa his address and asks her to hurry.
Meanwhile, Sienna overhears Max speaking to someone and making promises about the new girl as she is sorted. She also finds a camera and goes through it, finding pictures of all the girls from the art center. Max hears the camera clicking and gets mad at Sienna. He attacks her and ties her to a chair. He tells her to behave, as Hollywood is all about second chances. Lisa reaches the house, and Sienna sees her. Max steps out for a minute, and Lisa tries to untie Sienna.

Max comes back and starts choking Lisa. Sienna unties her hands and hits Max with a glass bottle. They hug each other, making sure they are doing okay. Mark, Lisa, and Sienna are sitting on the porch of their house, and they inform Mark that the police have enough evidence to put Max behind bars. Haley also agreed to come forward with her story. Sienna decides to take a break and enjoy her time. She calls Mark and Lisa superstars and thanks them for fighting for her even though she is stubborn.
In the end, everything Lisa feared came true. She was uncomfortable with Max from the beginning. You can call it maternal instinct to protect her child, but her fears became a reality. Luckily for Sienna, her mother came to her rescue before things got ugly. The film explores many aspects of the entertainment industry with cults and the people dreaming about making it big in huge industries like Hollywood. Often, when someone wants a breakthrough in acting, they are ready to go to any extent without realizing what they are doing, and this is especially true for teenagers.
The film depicts these aspects and the dark side of the entertainment industry where there are people who will take advantage of people like Sienna or Haley who have the talent and lure them in to do the wrong things. We also have characters like Amy, who was friends with Sienna, but when a friend is starting to shine, there is bound to be jealousy. Despite her insecurities, she cared about Sienna when things turned dark.
