Nicolas Cage reprises Spider-Man Noir: If you loved “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” there is some exciting news for you all. Before I break it to you, let’s rewind a bit to understand why “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” was a much-hyped film. Released in 2018, it is an American animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales/Spider-Man. The film was a commercial success, grossing a whopping $384.3 million worldwide against a $90 million budget and receiving critical acclaim.
The film was honored with numerous accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Since its release, it has been regarded as one of the best-animated films of the 21st century. Apart from incredible animation and premise, the major credit for the film’s success goes to its voice-over cast, who brought the beloved animated characters to life. Among them is Oscar-winning actor Nicholas Cage. And now the big news is that the actor will soon reprise his role of Spider-Man Noir in Amazon’s live-action series.
Nicolas Cage is all set to reprise his Spider-Man Noir role
Nicolas Cage has confirmed that he will be reprising the role of Spider-Man Noir in the upcoming live-action series. During a conversation with Collider, Cage expressed his admiration for his character and confirmed that he will once again voice the character. He said,
“Well, I can say that we have been talking. It’s no secret that I love the character. I think the character provides another mash up of sorts. I can combine my favorite golden age performances, i.e. Robinson, Cagney, Bogart, with a character that is, I guess, widely considered [to be] Stan Lee’s masterpiece. I see it as a kind of foray into a pop art mash up of, sort of, a [Jungian] Lichtenstein, mash up by way of Bogart and Cagney, but nothing’s definitive yet. It’s just conversation.”

Who is Spider-Man Noir?
Spider-Man Noir was first introduced on the Marvel Comics pages back in 2009. Part of the Marvel Noir universe, aka Earth-90214, this alternate version of the superhero is a noir-themed take on the beloved character and fights crime in New York during the Great Depression. This dark-themed spider resembles a little with the original Peter Parker’s Spider-Man, yet it’s different.
Like the OG Spider-Man, Noir is also permeated with super-human abilities based on a spider. He ultimately becomes a masked vigilante as he wages a one-man war on crime. However, unlike his original namesake, Spider-Man Noir was bitten by a spider that emerged from a spider-god idol while attempting to bring down a smuggling ring.
