Orb: On Movements of the Earth (Season 1) Episode 15 “Is It… My Turn” Recap:

The episode opens with Antoni questioning the inquisitor why he had let Jolenta escape. The young inquisitor expresses that, irrespective of the outcome, Antoni intended to kill Jolenta, which is why the inquisitor helped Jolenta escape. However, Antoni thinks it’s an unthoughtful response as the inquisitor did not consider the worst-case scenario. Allowing a heretic to go free could signify the demise of humanity, but ending the life of one heretic is merely a single death. The inquisitor picks out a teaching from theology that says, ‘Love thy neighbor,’ so Antoni gets angry as the inquisitor misinterprets the verse. When Antoni learns Nowak does not know about the situation, Antoni makes a plan.

Why is Nowak upset?

According to the plan, the inquisitors will tell Nowak that Jolenta is a heretic who tried to escape using a hostage and, in the process, wounded others. So, they didn’t have a choice but to execute Jolenta. Furthermore, Antoni asks the inquisitors to show a body to Nowak before burning her completely. How to find a body? The answer is to execute the young inquisitor who helped Jolenta escape and portray it as Jolenta.

As instructed, the information has been given to Nowak. The lie is taken one step ahead as the inquisitor gives Jolenta’s gloves to Nowak, making things difficult for Nowak. When Nowak visits the place where executions take place, Nowak sees a body hanging. Since the body is covered with fire, Nowak cannot make out who it is and assumes it is Jolenta.

That night, Nowak goes to bed feeling upset. Ten years earlier, when Jolenta was a little girl, she was delighted to see Nowak come home from work. As soon as Jolenta sees Nowak, she hands Nowak a letter she wrote. Seeing Jolenta’s penmanship, Nowak is impressed. One day, when Nowak and Jolenta are walking, she sees a young child enjoying wearing a pair of gloves.

Thankfully, Nowak notices Jolenta. Soon after, Nowak tells Jolenta that he has ordered a pair of gloves for Jolenta, which excites her. When Jolenta thanks Nowak, he says it’s God’s will for Jolenta to have gloves so she does not feel cold while studying. Once the gloves arrive, they are significant for Jolenta.

Who exposed Badeni?

Unfortunately, Jolenta says this is also God’s will, and it is God’s fault that the gloves don’t fit Jolenta. As a man of faith, Nowak is furious to hear such words from Jolenta’s mouth. So Nowak yells at Jolenta, taking her by surprise. Inside the room, Nowak regrets yelling at Jolenta as the situation did not require such harsh behavior. At first, Nowak reasons that Jolenta needs to learn to have faith in God, but Nowak realizes it’s important to console a crying child first. When Nowak approaches Jolenta to console her, she apologizes for saying bad things about God. At that moment, Nowak is astonished by Jolenta’s maturity. At present, Nowak sees Jolenta’s gloves and weeps.

Elsewhere, in Badeni’s former church, the word spreads among the villagers that Badeni was executed for being a heretic. Furthermore, the villagers know that it was because of an anonymous tip. The villagers also knew that Father Grabowski had sent an anonymous tip to someone, so they enquired about it. Father Grabowski says it was a matter from another village. Now, Father Grabowski thinks about the time he found a book near the library. From the book, Father Grabowski can decode some things, realizes they are blasphemous, and reports them. Furthermore, Father Grabowski wonders if this is the reason Badeni was executed. Inside a room, Father Grabowski finds a letter from Badeni.

In the letter, Badeni requests Father Grabowski to receive a beggar if he happens to visit Grabowski. Furthermore, Badeni asks Father Grabowski to find a way to educate the beggars. Father Grabowski wonders if he should publish and spread the works of Badeni and if they have survived to let them be, as they are blasphemous.

Orb: On Movements of the Earth (Season 1) Episode 15 “Is It…My Turn?” Ending Explained:

The beggars have a meeting elsewhere, as Badeni or Oczy have not visited them to give them food. The main beggar tells the group that he has promised Badeni something, and it is time to fulfill it. Now, the main beggar meets Father Grabowski and informs him about Badeni’s wish to follow the beggar.

As requested, Father Grabowski follows the beggar. Upon reaching their destination, the beggars reveal that Badeni referred to them as ‘books.’ To help Father Grabowski understand, one of the beggars shaves a part of his head, revealing a tattoo of text. The other beggars follow the same. Seeing this, Father Grabowski is astonished. Seeing the beggar’s shaved head, Father Grabowski remembers his conversation with Badeni. Badeni asks a question: what is necessary to change the world? The answer is truth. Now, Father Grabowski thinks the writing on these beggars’ heads is the truth. Furthermore, Father Grabowski realizes it is his turn to take the truth forward.

Badeni, despite his tough exterior, genuinely cared for those around him. In this episode, we witness his compassion as he asks Father Grabowski to help educate the impoverished beggars. The mystery of who betrayed Badeni is finally unveiled: it was Father Grabowski. The fallen book that Grabowski picks up is likely the same one Piast dropped as he took his last breath. While Jolenta’s whereabouts remain unknown, it is striking that Nowak unquestioningly believes every word the inquisitors tell him. After numerous episodes showing Nowak’s cold-hearted demeanor, we now understand the depth of his paternal love for Jolenta. The upcoming episodes will reveal how Father Grabowski plans to shape the next chapter of this story.
