In episodes 7 and 8 of “Queen of Tears,” we see Hae-in’s health getting worse, and so does her relationship with Hyun-woo. However, Hyun-woo is not giving up on the Queen/Hong family and is trying to protect them until the end. Eun-seong and the group are making fast moves as they realize that the truth is coming out quickly, and Man Dae is going to be shocked in the end. Hyun-woo’s family is as supportive as ever, even in times of serious crisis.

Queen of Tears Episode 7 Recap:

The episode begins with Hae-in being shocked to hear about the divorce papers. She figured out that Hyun-woo was going to give her the papers the day she told him she would be dying. Hae-in goes back to the room and asks him not to follow. But Hyun-woo finds her amidst the traffic and saves her. She tells him never to save her if something like this happens again. Meanwhile, Soo-cheol suspects Beom-ja to have initiated the divorce as he has seen her and Hyun-woo talk in private.

In Germany, Hae-in goes ahead with the procedure, but the doctors tell Hyun-woo that there has been no improvement. They also tell him that terminally ill patients need to have something to hold on to; otherwise, they can get suicidal. Hyun-woo thinks of a plan to give Hae-in a reason to live. Subsequently, he provokes her into not letting him get away easily, and she asks him if he can handle her range. He yells at her to bring it on.

Soo-Cheol signs a contract with Eun-seong. Eun-seong and his group make a plan on how to take over Queens and put the entire family in jail. Da-Hye is feeling emotional about it. Hae-in and Hyun-woo return to Korea and Hyun-woo is shocked to see the signed deal between Soo-cheol and Eun-seong. Hyun-woo meets Yang-gi and checks out the closed tech company. Hyun-woo meets with Man Dae, and before that, Seon Hwa sees Hyun-woo and is mad at him.

Before entering Man Dae’s office, he is asked to remove any electronic device as the family suspects him of having bugged the room. Hyun-woo tells Man Dae about his suspicion but admits not knowing who the real brain behind it is. Eun-seong watches this and asks Director Jo to make a move quickly. Hyun-woo’s mother calls, and Seon Hwa receives her and warns her not to get in the way, as she will make sure Hyun-woo and Hae-in get divorced.

Beom-ja is surprised by Hyun-woo’s actions. She sees Seul Hee and controls her anger as her detective advises. Hae-in shows Hyun-woo the signed divorce papers and tells him he will be kicked out. Hyun-woo requests only one thing, and that is not to trust Eun-seong. He tells her about the tech company. A maid finds the receipt from the hospital in Hae-in’s room. The next day, Hae-in asks for Hyun-woo’s office to be audited. Their secretaries work together to keep both of them away.

Queen’s directors realize that their investment has crashed. Grace sends Director Jo to a different country for his family. Soo-cheol is taking bicycle lessons, and his mother yells at him. Soo-cheol says that, as a father, he wants to teach his child all these things. Da-Hye is moved and stays conflicted with her feelings. She gets a call about a property to be sold, and she promises to be there in two weeks.

Beom Jun meets with the detectives following Hyun-woo and doesn’t find anything suspicious. He shares the same with Hae-in, and she tells him that he knows how to behave as he is aware of the detectives. Hae-in gets to know about the flowers Hyun-woo sends to Kim Min-ji, and Hae-in visits the funeral home to discover that it is her employee. Eun-seong and Hae-in meet, and Eun-seong asks her to divorce Hyun-woo and replace him with Eun-seong. Hae-in gets out, getting offended, and it turns out he has stolen her medicine.

Seul Hee walks around the house, finds Eun-seong, and calls him her son. As Beom-ja suspected, Seul Hee had a son named Eun-seong. Seul Hee comes up with a plan and tells Man Dae that she will go to prison instead of him. He says she is better than all of her kids put together. Hae-in is playing with a cat in the rain, and Hyun-woo helps her. Hae-in has lost memories from Germany and conversations with Eun-seong. Hyun-woo breaks down, and Hae-in says she loves him. In the epilogue, we see Hae-in lying to Hyun-woo about a raccoon on the rooftop, and to this day, Hyun-woo believes that.

Queen of Tears Episode 8 Recap:

The episode begins with a flashback to when Hae-in and Hyun-woo were on a date. While on the date, Hyun-woo believes the universe is on their side and proposes to Hae-in. In the present, Hae-in has lost memories of Germany, and Hyun-woo reminds her of it. Hae-in remembers everything and, in anger, tells him she wants a divorce right away. The next day, Hyun-woo brings in Yang gi as his divorce lawyer.

They see Hae-in’s lawyer walk, and Yang gi is scared, saying there are numerous rumors about the lawyer, one of which is that he is the Vincenzo and part of a mafia. The two parties meet, and Hae-in’s lawyer suggests a change in the reasoning behind the divorce. Hyun-woo tells him to write whatever they want as anything they write will not be true. They are officially divorced. Hae-in thinks about the places Hyun-woo goes and reminisces about it. Hyun-woo had taken her on a subway once to show the best sunset in Seoul.

She tries playing golf as Hyun-woo does and finds it exhilarating. She then visits the diner Hyun-woo goes and is taken aback to hear his voice. Hyun-woo is with Yang gi, and he tells him that he has always wanted to be by Hae-in’s side. Hyun-woo’s assistant tells Eun-seong that the medicine he gave is an anti-cancer medicine. Eun-seong touches his chain. In a flashback we see that the orphanage funded by the Queen’s Eun-seong has saved Hae-in’s life from a dog. The chain she is wearing falls off, and Eun-seong is wearing it.

At present, Eun-seong is worried about Hae-in. She comes home in a taxi, and they argue. Eun-seong tries to get close to Hae-in in a romantic way, but Hae-in shuts him out. She tells him that the reason she left Hyun-woo is because he has gone through so much, and Eun-seong asks if she won’t change her mind even if she loses everything. Seul Hee intervenes, and Hae-in walks off. Hyun-woo’s mother meets Seon Hwa and learns about the divorce.

Hyun-woo finds out that Seul Hee bought the watch Eun-seong is wearing. Soo Cheol comes to Hyun-woo with a problem because of the construction, and Hyun-woo provides a solution. The next problem arises when the investors start backing out because of the investigations. Eun-seong helps by not backing out from his investing company. Man Dae is about to sign, but Hyun-woo stops him. Man Dae is reminded of Seul Hee’s words, and he tells Hyun-woo that he gives people three chances. Since Hyun-woo’s three chances are up, he is asked to leave the directorial position. Subsequently, Man Dae signs the deal.

Hae-in asks Hyun-woo why he is taking the humiliation, and he says he wants to continue to work there. He is also the team manager, and they cannot kick him out without a valid reason. Beom Ja asks Hyun-woo to get inside the car, and she reveals Seul Hee’s true identity, and they team up. Eun-seong is following Hae-in, and Hyun-woo follows him, and he warns Eun-seong not to harm Hae-in. He also notices the watch on Eun-seong’s hand. Man Dae gives Seul Hee the power of attorney.

Queen of Tears Episode 8 Ending Explained:

Will Eun-seong Take over Hong Family’s Business?

Beom Ja reveals the truth to Man Dae, but he hits her when she pulls Seul Hee’s hair. Da Hye leaves a letter to Soo Cheol before leaving, which leaves him devastated. Hyun-woo also catches his assistant talking to Eun-seong, and he reveals the truth about their interaction. Hyun-woo and Beom Ja visit the detective and get a DNA test for Seul Hee and Eun-seong. The DNA results show a 99.9% match, and Hyun-woo calls Man Dae and instructs him to do certain things to save the company. However, it’s too late, and Man Dae is getting sick. He looks at Seul Hee with a disappointed face, and she confesses to drugging him, which will leave him in a coma, and also tells him that Hyun-woo and Beom Ja are telling the truth.

The family is not allowed to visit Man Dae because Seul Hee has power of attorney, and she verbally tells the family that Eun-seong is her son. The queens lose their business, and Eun-seong is seen sitting on the official chair in the office. Nobody knows where the Queen’s family is. Du-gwan is terribly upset about the news, and Hyun-woo comes in a car. The family and villagers start bad-mouthing the Queen’s family, but one after the other, they get out of the car.

The last episode went quicker than anticipated. This early on in the series, we didn’t expect Eun-seong to take over. The family in Hyun-woo’s village only means they will find a way to get revenge, and a good one at that. The two people who were mistreated and kicked out of the family were Beom Ja and Hyun-woo, who were the only ones who genuinely knew the truth and cared about the family.

It will be interesting to see what Eun-seong and the team do next. After the change of heart, Da Hye could come back and reveal the truth. Hyun-woo, the Hong family, and maybe the villagers will also find a way to get revenge.
