Cinephobia Releasing just announced its highly anticipated inaugural release. Set against the backdrop of Argentina, “Sublime” marks the impressive feature-length debut of writer/director Mariano Biasin, accompanied by the remarkable performances of lead actor Martรญn Miller and co-lead Teo Inama Chiabrando. What is the movie about?

In the vibrant realm of garage rock, the timid 16-year-old Manuel (Martรญn Miller) finds his true voice alongside his closest companion Felipe (Teo Inama Chiabrando), and their group of friends as they unite to form an electrifying band. Bound by a lifelong friendship, their connection deepens even further through the power of music, becoming a refuge where their spirits soar.

Yet, as the strains of adolescence take hold, Manuel’s world becomes a labyrinth of emotions when Felipe starts dating a girl. Simultaneously, Manuel embarks on a tentative romance with a female classmate while grappling with the profound feelings he harbors for Felipe, which he dare not reveal. Engulfed in a whirlwind of confusion and uncertainty, Manuel retreats within himself, fearing that his unspoken desires may remain unrequited.
