Bryan desires to please Kim and express his love through caring acts. As a birthday gift, he purchases her a karaoke machine, demonstrating his knowledge of her aspiration to be a singer. But, Stuart steals the show by presenting her with a horse, and Bryan’s gift appears worthless in comparison. This scene identifies Bryan’s dilemma; he cannot match Stuart’s financial resources, and his efforts to impress Kim prove unsuccessful.

After a violent confrontation and a high-speed chase, he rescues the girl and helps her recover from the drugs. She later reveals the location where Kim was last held.
Disguising himself as Jean-Claude, Bryan infiltrates an Albanian safe house under the pretense of renegotiating their police bribe. He tricks Marko into revealing himself by making him repeat the words “good luck,” a phrase he heard during Kim’s abduction. A brutal fight ensues, leaving several traffickers dead. Searching the house, Bryan discovers Amanda’s lifeless body, she overdosed, a tragic consequence of the gang’s operations. Determined to get answers, Bryan tortures Marko using electricity. Marko confesses that Kim, being a virgin, was quickly sold on the black market. He identifies the buyer as Patrice Saint-Clair, a powerful crime syndicate leader.
