TikToker controversy at People’s Choice Awards: Celebrities are those people whose opinions and details on their personal lives are always on the radar of people. Not everyone is lucky to have an encounter with their favorite celeb, and all we get to know about them is either through interviews or their biographies. The former is often feasible for the audience as it’s the best way to know celebrities candidly. However, in the quest to know them more, interviewers often cross their boundaries, making them uncomfortable. This has been a frequent instance in media, and now it has been repeated at the People’s Choice Awards.
Apart from the A-listers from the industry, a bunch of Social media stars were also invited to the event. Although the event was great, some weird questions posed by a Tik Toker present there made the ambience and the celebrity guests uncomfortable. Though the celebrities targeted by the question could barely escape that, the TikToker was slammed later by social media users for asking immature and distasteful questions.
TikToker faced the wrath of Social media users after asking an irrational question
Harry Daniels, who has nearly half a million followers on TikTok, was seen interviewing America Ferrera, Billie Eilish, Coi Leray, Darren Barnet, James Charles, and Halle Bailey. His choice of question sparked debate online. He is being criticized for asking irrational questions to the celebrities.
As the celebrities arrived for the ceremony, 20-year-old Daniels asked whether they would prefer a “gay son or thot daughter?”
Of course, the celebrities were not thrilled with this question, rather they reacted shocked. Actress America Ferrera responded to the question by saying, “Oh my god. Both? I don’t know,” meanwhile, Bad Guy singer Billie Eilish avoided the silly question by shouting, “Not you!” before laughing and walking away.
Fellow Barbie actress Ariana Greenblatt replied: “All of them? I don’t care. Whatever you wanna be”.

Though the celebrities didn’t react negatively to Daniels’ question at the moment, his query was heavily criticized by social media users.
A user satirically remarked on the presence of such people at a grand event and stated, “Imagine being an Oscar and Grammy-winning artist, and you’re on the red carpet and get asked, gay son or thot daughter… People can’t even try to maintain class at events anymore it’s annoying.”
Other users on X/Twitter called the query “immature and distasteful.” Echoing the first comment, the user added, “They’ll let anyone in these events.”
The series of remarks went on to be straight brutal as some users said that TikTokers were unqualified to be covering high-profile events, “Journalists are out here in the trenches, we’re battling weekly rounds of layoffs, abysmal wages, and pay rates, fighting disfino around every corner.”
Stating sheer facts, a user recounted the Greta Gerwig’s Barbie theme and stated, “Imagine walking up to the cast of Barbie and asking if they would have a ‘thot daughter’ as if they didn’t just make a whole film about women being objectified and belittled.”
This isn’t the first time that it has become a necessity to school the interviewers for knowing certain boundaries. Recently, a BBC presenter was also criticized for asking Andrew Scott an “uncomfortable” and “inappropriate” question at the BAFTAs about Barry Keoghan’s naked dance scene in “Saltburn.”
