Timothée Chalamet’s Take on Superhero Films: The superhero franchise, including Marvel and DC, has been facing a hard time over the last few years. However, there was a time when actors dreamt of being a part of comic-book movies. So far, both franchises have delivered some iconic superhero films, which we certainly vouch for. However, the current position of the franchises is in question.

Amidst this, when the question to join the comic book films was posed before the rising star Timothée Chalamett, his answer was a straight no. However, in some exceptional cases, Chalamett won’t mind giving it a try.

Why is Timothée Chalamett not interested in superhero films?

While many actors have risen to stardom with their performances in comic book films, Timothée Chalamett has established himself in the industry without that. The actor has been in the news lately for his upcoming “Dune: Part Two.”

In a recent interview with  The NY Times, Chalamet opened up about his take on joining the superhero franchise. When the actor was asked, “Is it fair to assume that if you wanted to play a superhero, you’ve had opportunities?” he clarified that ever since the legendary actor Leonardo Di Caprio told him not to join the comic book film franchise, he has hold on tightly to his words. Chalamet stated, “Well, Leonardo DiCaprio said to me, ‘No superhero movies, no hard drugs.’ Which I thought was very good. I follow them both!”

While Chalamet adheres strictly to DiCaprio’s advice, he remains flexible in his approach to films. Any opportunity is a chance to expand your career, and Chalamet is certainly well aware of that. When it comes to twisting some norms, he is open to all, but…conditions applied.

In the same interview, Chalamet revealed that though he has not yet given a thought to appear in a superhero film, it was actually a superhero film that made him want to become an actor. The Dune actor said, “The movie that made me want to act is a superhero movie, “The Dark Knight.” If the script was great, if the director was great, I’d have to consider it.”

It’s indeed rare to find an actor in the entire industry who doesn’t want to be a part of Christopher Nolan’s film. Chalamet is one of the admirers of Nolan’s work, and only a film directed by him could convince Chalamet to don a superhero outfit.
