The highly anticipated film of the year, “Dune: Part Two,” has finally been released. While everyone is hailing filmmaker Denis Villeneuve for his incredible direction, after its release, the focus has now shifted to the lead actress of the film Zendaya. Zendaya’s performance as Chani has been celebrated among the audience. The internet is in awe of how incredibly the actress has portrayed her character, especially in the third act. 

Zendaya garners praise online for her impeccable performance in Dune: Part Two

Directed by Canadian filmmaker Denis Villeneuve, “Dune: Part Two” marked its release on March 1, 2024. The film is a follow-up to 2021’s Dune, which adapted the first half of Frank Herbert’s novel of the same name and was a critical and commercial success, becoming the twelfth highest-grossing movie of the year and winning six Oscars.

Recently, when the film premiered, Villeneuve’s film was highly appreciated and was even regarded as one of the best sci-fi films to date. Now, when the film has finally arrived, the audience cannot stop talking about the lead actress of Zendaya. The actress portrayed the role of Chani, one of the Fremen of the desert planet Arrakis whose bond with lead character Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) could be key to saving her people from colonization. 

Audiences are keen observers, and if they decide to praise someone’s performance, it’s certain that the actor successfully impressed them. Talking about Zendaya’s performance, social media users particularly praised her for the third act, where they claimed that, despite having fewer dialogues, the actress communicated everything with her expressions. A social media user wrote, “There’s a moment in the third act where she quietly and subtly reacts to Paul, and it absolutely crushed me.”

Another statement echoed the previous one mentioning, “In the third act of Dune 2, Zendaya basically doesn’t say anything, she just pouts and does it tremendously. It conveys all of Chani’s emotions brilliantly. It made my eyes water and everything.“

While some users claim that she entirely stole the show, some even insisted, “Give Zendaya her Oscar nom for Dune Part 2. im so serious.”

It is common to praise an actor’s performance by suggesting that they should win an Oscar. However, considering Zendaya’s Dune performance and the reviews she has so far received for her performance, it could very well be a sign that the actor is ready for her first Oscar nomination. 

Zendaya has already won major awards for dramatic performances when she received two Emmys for her lead role as Rue in HBO’s Euphoria.
