With upcoming Sam Mendes’ Beatles Films, fans will explore the lives of legendary musicians

Known as the most influential band of all time, the story of The Beatles will soon be told on the big screen by Sam Mendes. The production of the film is progressing bit by bit, and we have some tea. According to a THR profile about the latest group of Hollywood rising stars—which includes Austin Butler, Jacob Elordi, Florence Pugh, Glen Powell, and others— says “is near the top of the list for major studio roles, including as one of the Fab Four in Sam Mendes’ coming Beatles movies.

Moreover, Irish actor Paul Mescal, who is prominently known for his appearance in 2020’s “Normal People,” is being considered for the role of Paul McCartney in Mendes’ upcoming project. So far, this is all that we know about the film, but even knowing that such an influential star power is being considered for The Beatles already makes the upcoming project highly anticipated.

Mendes’ four Beatles movies are all supposed to land in 2027 as a kind of big event series each quarter from Sony Pictures. The project marked the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles—Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and John Lennon and George Harrison families—have granted full-life story and music rights for a scripted film.

Mendes’ concept for the Beatles film involves telling four distinct stories, each from the perspective of a different band member. These narratives will intersect to portray the remarkable journey of the greatest band in history. Indeed, directing all four films that are set to release in the same year is a herculean task, but when Mendes is behind the camera, it can be said that the project is in the right hands.

As of now, no screenwriters, cast, or any other details have been revealed other than Sony eyeing Mescal for a part.
