No matter how convoluted the case is, if Detective Benoit Blanc has been given the responsibility to solve it, consider it done. The detective is once again back with a new mysterious case as Daniel Craig reprises his role in the upcoming third installment of “Knives Out,” “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” Rian Johnson’s film will mark the reunion of Criag with actor Andrew Scott, as Scott joins the cast of “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” Scott and Craig have previously worked together in the 2015 James Bond movie “Spectre.”

According to  Variety, Scott has become the fourth actor to officially board “Knives Out 3.” Previously, it was announced that acclaimed actors like Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaney are also attached to the project and set to grace the screen. Lindsay Lohan and Tom Hard have also been linked to “Wake Up Dead Man,” although their casting has yet to be reported by any of the major outlets.

While plot details remain unknown, Johnson earlier hinted that the forthcoming movie features Benoit Blanc’s “most dangerous case yet.” Apart from providing his directorial vision for the film, Johnson will also serve as the writer and producer of Wake Up Dead Man.

The filmmaker previously shared that he is looking forward to exploring how “malleable” the whodunnit genre is with “Knives Out 3.” Production is expected to begin next month.

Who is Andrew Scott?

After seeing Andrew Scott in the role of ‘The Priest’ in the fan-favorite series “Fleabag,” I guess perhaps it’s fine to call him the heartthrob of the film industry. He is an Irish actor known for his roles on stage and screen. The 47-year-old actor has been acting steadily since the mid-1990s. His breakout role did not arrive until 2010, when he made his debut as Jim Moriarty in the British television series Sherlock, acting opposite Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman’s Dr. John Watson.

For his performance, he won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2012. His role as the priest in the second series of Fleabag (2019) earned him the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He is also known for his roles in the films Pride (2014), Spectre (2015), and 1917 (2019). He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his starring role in the romantic drama film All of Us Strangers (2023). And recently, in 2024, he starred as Tom Ripley in the crime series Ripley.

Although his role in the upcoming mystery thriller film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is ambiguous as of now, considering his previous performances, something good and promising can be expected from his part.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is targeting a 2025 release on Netflix.
