Apple TV’s “The Morning Show” will soon return with a fresh season, and this time, a new face will be included in the star-studded cast. It has been recently reported that French superstar Marion Cotillard will join season four of “The Morning Show.” The actress will star opposite show regulars Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston as Celine Dumont.

The first season of the show premiered on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019. The series is inspired by Brian Stelter’s 2013 book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV. The show examines the characters and culture behind a network broadcast morning news program. After allegations of sexual misconduct, the male co-anchor of the program is forced off the show. Aspects of the #MeToo movement are examined from multiple perspectives as more information comes out regarding said misconduct. Subsequent seasons focus on other political topics and current events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, racial inequality, the Capitol insurrection, and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The second season premiered on September 17, 2021. Following the success of the second season, the series was renewed for the third season, which premiered on September 13, 2023. The third season earned an AFI award as well as a Critics Choice Award for supporting actor, drama, and a win for Billy Crudup. In 2020, Crudup won the Emmy for supporting actor and drama. As we await the fourth season that will premiere next year, Cotillard’s inclusion in the cast brings more anticipation.
