Bad Monkey Episode 6 “Yo, Would You Tell Ms. Chase I Still Love Her Like Crazy” Recap:
Does Egg catch Neville?
Episode 6 opens with Egg hanging out at Dragon Queen, aka Gracie’s place, and it seems the two are progressing in their connection. However, their intimate moment is soon interrupted when Egg discovers Neville eavesdropping at Gracie’s front door. Neville had arrived at Gracie’s hoping to get away from Egg, but upon seeing the person who wants to shoot him on sight, he runs away again, only to get shot in the shoulder on his way out. Egg is unable to catch Neville but instead finds Clasper by his plane at the shore. Clasper has just returned after dropping Nick and Eve at their safe spot and awaiting for further instructions.
Unable to find Neville, a disappointed Egg returns to Gracie’s place, hoping to resume their romantic moment. However, Gracie is quick to dismiss him, remaining adamant about not being taken seriously, no matter who the person is. Meanwhile, we see her forging Wendell’s signatures before signing a document stating that Nick had offered a decent sum in exchange for Wendell’s beachfront property. Soon, Gracie and Yaya meet Wendell’s widow and daughter, Dawnie, who knows both Gracie and her grandmother scam the vulnerable for quick money. Gracie explains the document to Wendell’s wife, stating that he gave her the property as a form of payment before his passing. Dawnie disapproves of this and leaves after being subtly threatened by Yaya for showing disrespect.
Why was Cody following Yancy?
On the other hand, Yancy and Rosa decide to meet at Rogelio’s place after convincing him to discuss further plans on how to catch Nick and Eve. Before leaving for Rogelio’s, Yancy decides to freshen up, but when he enters his place, he finds a black SUV parked outside—the same one that has been following him all along. As he enters, he attacks Cody from behind, but Bonnie comes to the rescue. It turns out that Cody (who has been following Bonnie all this while) wanted to scare Yancy, thinking he was causing trouble for Bonnie. Still enamored with Bonnie after their fling during university days, Cody is a golden ticket for Bonnie, who is desperate to escape her life on the run from the police for sexual misconduct.
Why does Rogelio betray his best friend?
Seeing Bonnie’s desperation, Yancy agrees to let her stay at his cabin for a few days until the situation cools down. Back at Rogelio’s, his husband notices that Rogelio is worked up and not in his usual mood. Rogelio is at a crossroads, having been threatened by Sonny for helping Yancy, who is now a fugitive for murdering O’Peele and fleeing the scene. Sonny has also put Rogelio in a tight spot, threatening his job and pension if he goes against the system. When Yancy arrives, Rogelio goes behind his back and tips off the police. Yancy is taken by Mendez, who has been waiting for an opportunity to take him down for good. As Rosa arrives, she finds Yancy in handcuffs and being taken by the police. She subtly drives by, looking for a way to get Yancy out of the mess.
Why does Gracie want to meet Nick and Eve?
Meanwhile, Gracie meets Egg again and demands to meet his boss to propose a deal that could benefit both of them if he agrees to her plan. Gracie is a woman who wants to settle down after meeting a man who loves and respects her. She seeks financial stability for her future, which her current practice of witchcraft does not provide. Therefore, she decides to approach Egg’s boss to make a deal involving Wendell’s land, aiming to secure her future through this arrangement. Upon meeting Nick and Eve, Gracie realizes they are typical Americans, eager to exploit the vulnerable for their gain. Gracie quickly sets boundaries, warning them not to mess with her as she is territorial and knows how to fend off people like them if they play with fire.
What does Bonnie decide after meeting Cody after all this time?
Later, we see Bonnie and Cody arriving at Yancy’s cabin, nestled in a picturesque forested island. Upon entering, they are greeted by Yancy’s father, Fitz, who instantly takes a liking to Bonnie and understands why she and his son share great chemistry. Surrounded by tranquil nature and stillness, Bonnie has an epiphany, realizing she could settle down with Cody, who is now 26 (an idea initially suggested by Cody). This could change things for the better, as the law might see nothing wrong with them pursuing a relationship if they were married.
However, when Bonnie goes through Cody’s diary, where he jots down his thoughts and ideas for his novel, she feels devastated. It turns out Cody still thinks like the young boy who was infatuated with Bonnie when she was his teacher. Bonnie realizes that pursuing Cody now could further jeopardize her life, and she is tired of running. She wants to make something meaningful out of her life, as she is growing older with each passing day.
Back at the station, Mendez is thrilled to see Yancy behind bars. However, when Rogelio’s husband, Monte, who is a lawyer, decides to help, he learns from Yancy that Mendez is only seeking revenge since they have never been on good terms. When the officers in charge of the case arrive to scrutinize Yancy, they realize that Mendez does hold a grudge, and it was not wise to appoint him as a detective. However, Yancy, with his yappy motor mouth, doesn’t make his case very strong, and Monte feels helpless when the officers point out the lack of evidence proving Nick is alive or that Eve was the mastermind behind O’Peele’s murder.
Bad Monkey Episode 6 “Yo, Would You Tell Ms. Chase I Still Love Her Like Crazy” Ending Explained:
How does the new revelation affect Yancy’s case?
On the other hand, Rosa conducts her own investigation and goes to the private airport where she and Yancy had nearly captured Eve and Nick. However, Rosa has to hide when a private jet arrives, and she sees Clasper helping gang members unload cartons of drugs. At the same time, Rogelio does some investigating of his own. He arrives at the station, and Monte is stunned to see his husband with their children. Rogelio enters the investigation room and decides to reveal some factual truths that have been holding back the case for a while.
It turns out that Mendez tampered with evidence to get back at Yancy. Furthermore, we learn that the woman living next to O’Peele’s apartment saw another man with one missing arm entering the victim’s house. However, Mendez had asked her not to disclose this crucial information, as it could have cleared Yancy. The officers in charge finally grasp the full situation, and when they go after Mendez, who left the room to retrieve case files, they find that he has fled the scene.
Yancy is happy to see Rogelio standing up for his best friend, and despite being in a challenging position, Rogelio feels a sense of relief for doing the right thing. This revelation strengthens Yancy’s case, and he is pleased to gain the upper hand in his hunches about Nick. Meanwhile, Detective Russell, while searching for Bonnie, trespasses into Yancy’s house after learning from a realtor neighbor that Bonnie was there with another man. After exploring the house and finding the cabin’s address, Russell heads there. After Bonnie realizes that leading Cody on again is a bad idea, Bonnie and Fritz hang out. Fritz tells her that she can’t keep running forever.
Does Detective Russell get hold of Bonnie?
Later, when Detective Russell arrives at Fritz’s place, she tells him she’s looking for Bonnie. He takes her to the back, and they discover Bonnie has decided to run away again, taking Fritz’s airboat. Meanwhile, Rosa sees Neville falling from Clasper’s jet. Neville instantly recognizes her from the time he saw her with Yancy at his sister’s cafe in Miami. The episode ends with Gracie walking back to her place along a trail in the middle of the forest. Suddenly, someone puts a cloth bag over her head, and it appears she’s been kidnapped. We don’t get to see who kidnaps her, but since she has intimidated Nick and Eve, they must have asked Egg to get rid of her or something.
Is Egg following his bosses’ (Nick and Eve’s) orders to kidnap Gracie and eliminate her after feeling threatened? Will Yancy’s case help him get bail and restore his position as a detective? Will Neville and Rosa team up to gather concrete evidence against Nick and Eve, who have been causing chaos in the Keys? What will happen to Rogelio now that he has gone out of his way to strengthen Yancy’s case? The upcoming episode may explore these questions.
