The episode begins with Adelina Tattilo, the publisher of Playmen (an erotica magazine), being named one of the world’s most influential women by the UN. This divides people, as they think Adelina should not be in the same category as Indira Gandhi or Simone de Beauvoir, mostly because Adelina runs an erotica magazine. We go back to a couple of years before.
Adelina and her husband, Saro, host a party. Outside the venue, a woman named Elsa tries to enter, but the security does not allow her inside. So, Adelina takes Elsa in. Inside, Elsa meets Poggi, an assistant photographer working for Playmen. At the party, Saro reveals the cover of the month, which shows Brigitte Bardot as the woman of the month. Later, Adelina is frustrated with Saro as Saro’s ex-girlfriend shows up with her band.
Why is Adelina frustrated?
Still, Saro wins over Adelina, and they make out. Elsewhere, Elsa and Poggi have sex. Before that, Poggi asks Elsa to pose naked and promises it’s for their personal use. The next day, lead photographer Sarti takes pictures while Poggi assists him. At that time, Adelina comes rushing to the office as Saro is missing. However, Adelina learns Saro is in Paris.
Suddenly, cops arrive and seize all of Playmen magazines and arrest Adelina as she is the editor-in-chief of the magazine. Adelina is not given bail, but on a Friday, Adelina is released. One of the cellmates reveals to Adelina that only whores work on Saturdays, and there won’t be any release papers signed on Saturday. At home, Adelina’s son is angry as Adelina is still defending Saro, even though he threw Adelina in jail.
Later, Adelina confronts Chartoux, who reveals Saro is in hiding because if Saro is caught, then there will be other charges against him, like fraudulent accounting, misappropriation of funds, and embezzlement that could put the magazine in danger. Now, Adelina looks for clues in Saro’s office as to where he can be. There, Adelina finds a lipstick-stained shirt, and she is upset.
For peace of mind, Adelina visits a priest and tells him she wants a divorce. But her priest friend reminds Adelina that divorce is illegal in Italy. At night, Adelina gets a call from Saro asking to meet. They meet in their usual place, which they have been meeting in since they began to date. Saro gives some erotic pictures to Adelina to be published. Furthermore, Adelina confronts Saro about his shirt, but Saro says the lipstick mark is of Adelina’s from the night of the party.
Why does Adelina take over Playmen?
For some time, they reminisce. After that, Adelina visits the office to find Poggi developing some images that Poggi has clicked. The next day, Adelina gives Chartoux Poggi’s pictures that show women from various backgrounds, as well as sex workers. Adelina says Saro agrees with her in publishing these images. The cover will be Poggi’s pictures.
Elsewhere, Poggi visits Elsa to get her consent to use her photographs. However, Poggi hides the fact that he will be using Elsa’s naked pictures as well. That night, Elsa realises that Poggi got her signature by lying. The next day, Chartoux confronts Adelina about lying to him about the photos, so Adelina gives Chartoux the photos Saro gave her. The reason for Adelina’s actions is that Saro will let everyone take the fall with the authorities while he escapes.
Meanwhile, Elsa comes to the office to fight with Poggi. However, Chartoux reminds Elsa that she has signed a legal contract so they can do what they want with the pictures. The next day, Adelina gets bad news that the cops are waiting by the newsstands to seize the magazines. Adelina drops all the magazines way before time, and on a Saturday. Since the court orders came late, the cops couldn’t seize many copies. This edition becomes a hit. That night, Chartoux visits a gay bar where he spots Poggi.
Immediately, Chartoux leaves, but Poggi comes running and kisses Chartoux. Elsewhere, Ettore rapes Elsa. At home, Adelina gets a call from Saro saying he is leaving for France, as there is an arrest warrant for him. We see Saro leaving for France with his ex/singer from the party. In the end, Elsa walks home beaten and broken. The next day, Adelina greets the employees, saying she is their new boss now. A couple of years ago, Saro transferred some of his shares to Adelina so as not to lose them. This makes Adelina a majority shareholder.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 2 Recap:
The episode opens with Elsa and Adelina sad and broken, but they need to get on with life, regardless. The next morning, Carlo (bank manager and advisor for Playmen) tells Adelina that the investors’ debts need to be paid off, or her house will be seized. At the office, Bianchi says they should publish nude photos of the Casati murder victim.
However, Adelina is against it. Meanwhile, Elsa is at the police station trying to answer the cops’ inappropriate questions. The senior cop, Andrea, sees an opportunity as Elsa mentions Playmen magazine. When Elsa goes home, Ettore is with his lawyer, trying to sort the situation. The proposal is to marry Elsa, do husbandly duties, and charges against Ettore will not exist. Later, Elsa tells her friend about the problem, who asks Elsa to leave for London immediately. However, Elsa refuses to leave without her friend.
At the office, Adelina learns about the financial condition (drowning in debt) of the office, where the employees have not been paid for a couple of months now. So, Adelina fires all the employees at home as well as sells her luxurious cars. This means Adelina’s kids need to care for themselves. Soon, Elsa arrives demanding money from Adelina to leave the country. Since it is Playmen’s fault, Elsa asks for money.
Adelina realises what happened to Elsa, so she agrees to pay, but the others tell Adelina that there will be legal issues. Adelina visits the priest Rocco, who asks Adelina to talk to a newlywed about some problems in the bedroom. The woman is horrified as Adelina speaks about women’s right to feel satisfied. Meanwhile, Lorenzo takes his younger sister to the Occupy protests. The next day, Adelina buys images and a diary of the Casati murder victim. When the team discusses the next issue of the magazine with the Casati murder, Adelina is displeased.
How does Adelina turn things around for Playmen?
Later, Adelina visits Elsa and offers her a job, saying it’s better than marrying Ettore. In a bar, Chartoux is cold towards Poggi, but Poggi asks Chartoux not to ill-treat him, as he does not deserve it. When Adelina visits Rocco, the newlywed brings other friends of hers to get Adelina’s advice. At the office, Adelina walks in as the radio show where Chartoux is debating a feminist, Maria is playing.
With just 12 hours left for the next print, Adelina has an idea to run a story for virgins, newlyweds, and women in general to explore sex and sexuality. The others think this is risky, but Adelina wants to run with the erotic bride story. In a school, Lorenzo protests along with a girl he likes, Anna. Accidentally, Anna sees Lorenzo’s nude sketch of her. Suddenly, cops show up, so Anna and Lorenzo lock themselves in a classroom. Still, the cops arrest them. Turns out Anna is Maria’s daughter.
At home, Lorenzo is mad at Adelina for having faith in Saro, which the daughter overhears. Later, Lorenzo visits Anna and they sleep together. At home, Adelina reads the Casati murder victims’ diary and is disturbed. So, Adelina visits the office to find Chartoux there. Adelina asks Chartoux to run the Casati murder images along with the woman’s diary entries.
However, they will also run an erotic bride story, and Adelina will write it. Before leaving, Adelina asks Chartoux what defines him. Outside, Chartoux runs into Poggi, so he takes Poggi to an event. Later, Chartoux and Poggi sleep together. This new issue of Playmen magazine is a hit. The office receives many letters of appreciation. At that moment, Elsa arrives, agreeing to be Adelina’s assistant. The episode ends with Elsa leaving with Andrea.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 3 Recap:
The episode opens with Kiara (Adelina’s daughter) watching a TV show hosted by Emma. According to Kiara, Emma is perfect. The next day, Adelina notices Playboy is selling out fast, competing with Playmen. The content of Playboy seems to be similar to that of Playmen. Adelina says they need to crack a deal with Emma to put her on the cover page of Playmen.
Elsewhere, Elsa’s father insists Elsa marry Ettore. When Elsa does not listen, Elsa’s father disowns her. On the first day, Elsa is put in charge of sorting out files/invoices. In Chartoux’s office, Poggi asks Chartoux to make him the lead photographer to capture Emma. After work, Ettore takes Elsa by surprise on the road. Ettore says he loves Elsa and proposes. When Elsa threatens to shout, Ettore leaves.
The next day, Lorenzo sees Anna kiss another guy, so he gets upset. Anna says they are teenagers, and she wants free love. Meanwhile, Emma does not meet anyone from Playmen. Elsewhere, Elsa meets Andrea and tells him that Playmen are deep in debt, so they are desperate. Furthermore, Elsa says they want to put Emma on the cover of the magazine.
When Adelina gets home, Saro is cooking with Kiara as well as spoiling her with gifts. Even though Adelina is angry with Saro, he smooth-talks her into forgiving him. Furthermore, it seems like Saro is in touch with someone from the office, as he knows about signing a deal with Emma. Saro gives Adelina a pen that he used to sign all big contracts. Once Saro leaves, Lorenzo calls Adelina foolish for falling for Saro’s lies, so Adelina slaps him.
How does Adelina take over Playmen?
The next day, Elsa tells Adelina that she found an invoice for 10 million for stationery. Later, Elsa and Adelina plan to meet Emma at a café. There, Adelina tries to convince Emma to be on the cover of Playmen, but she ignores Adelina. At the office, Sarti has resigned from the job to work for Playboy. Later, Adelina overhears Chartoux talking to someone in a secretive tone, so Adelina asks Elsa to follow Chartoux. There, Elsa sees Chartoux collaborating with Saro.
Furthermore, Saro asks Chartoux to bring a key that opens locks to a slush fund. Once Saro leaves, Poggi arrives and kisses Chartoux. Once Chartoux comes to the office, Adelina fires Chartoux for disloyalty. However, Chartoux tells Adelina about the key. A while later, Carlo arrives, saying someone is willing to buy out Playmen. After Carlo leaves, Elsa says this deal screams scam. In a church somewhere, Saro gets married to Consuela (the singer) by deceiving her into believing that his previous marriage was over. During the live screening, Emma’s top falls, embarrassing her.
At the office, Adelina learns Rossetti is the one trying to play games and is the one working with Playboy. Lorenzo hangs out with Anna, who says she never wants to get married because of how her parents’ lives turned out. Soon, Emma meets Adelina as the top-falling incident has created a buzz, and Emma wants to model for Playmen. The photoshoot proceeds, and Adelina holds a press conference to say it is no longer going to be Saro Publishing but Tattilo Publishing.
Adelina cuts Saro off, promising to give him minimum wage. From the slush fund, Adelina gets 90 million. During a party, Adelina hires Chartoux back. At the same party, Elsa sees Poggi kiss another girl, so Elsa asks what kind of an asshole he is. Poggi says he is an asshole who is trying to survive. After the party, Elsa walks home when Ettore tries to force himself on Elsa, and Andrea comes to Elsa’s rescue. At home, Lorenzo tells Adelina not to become like Saro.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 4 Recap:
The episode opens with Poggi visiting a bar to give an envelope to a woman named Alice, who wanted to model for Playmen. In the envelope, Poggi has given Alice’s pictures as well as a note to say she is not a fit for Playmen. At the office, a vibrator company has sent their latest product, but Playmen can’t advertise it as a vibrator, as it will come under the pornography category. So, Elsa is put in charge of finding a way to advertise it. For the new issue, Poggi suggests putting gigolos on the cover.
Soon, Poggi brings a couple of gigolos for the shoot. The one on the cover will be Steve, whom Adelina finds attractive. Suddenly, cops arrive to take Adelina and Poggi to the police station as Alice has filed a complaint against them. The complaint is that Poggi used Alice for sex and also gave ideas on where to conduct prostitution. Sadly, Adelina knows nothing about what Poggi is doing. Still, this can put Adelina in prison for 10 years.
At the office, Adelina kicks Poggi out. While talking to a lawyer, the lawyer suggests Adelina go to the opera to show people she is not worried. In a park, Andrea asks Elsa to file a complaint against Poggi to add to Alice’s complaint so Poggi and Adelina can be put in jail. Elsa asks for time. Since Lorenzo stays at Anna’s house, Adeline arrives to bring him home, explaining about the situation, but it backfires.
So, Maria tells Adelina to do things differently as her methods are not working. In a moment of vulnerability, Adelina calls Saro. However, she gets annoyed with Saro’s arrogant tone. So, Adelina takes Elsa to the opera. There, they see Steve. Adelina steps out for a smoke, and Steve joins. Now, Steve says, because of his father, he had to become a gigolo and has been under the vice squad’s radar. Furthermore, Steve used to visit certain high-end clubs to get better clients. When Chartoux gets home, Poggi is waiting to explain that he had not done anything wrong. However, Chartoux does not believe Poggi, as he had hurt Elsa as well. So, Poggi asks Chartoux to be true to himself first.
The next day, Chartoux says he can find out more about Alice’s case through his sources. At home, Elsa’s friend Pia visits, and they discuss how to sell the vibrator. Later, Elsa pitches the idea to sell it as a massager instead of a vibrator. Just then, cops arrive in order to shut the office. Outside, Adelina gives Elsa money and commission so she can go to London, as Adelina knows she will be put in jail for 10 years now. At the police station, Elsa says she won’t give a false statement, and Andrea needs to go after the truth.
Meanwhile, Chartoux finds the information he needs and sends it to Andrea. Turns out there is a complaint against Alice for offering prostitution services, which was hidden from Andrea. Because this is public knowledge, the case against Playmen is withdrawn. Elsewhere, Chartoux apologises to Poggi and asks to be a couple. Steve calls the office to go to dinner with Adelina. In a park, Andrea expresses how much he enjoys spending time with Elsa. The episode ends with Adelina learning that Playboy is suing Playmen for plagiarism and unfair competition.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 5 Recap:
The episode opens in Greece, a photographer sneakily takes a naked picture of Jacqueline Kennedy in front of Onassis. The court has given Playmen 60 days to prove its originality and trademark. So, Adelina asks the lawyer to do the needful and file an appeal. The magazine issues must go on, so Chartoux suggests a topic of free love that is trending. In the police station, Andrea needs to stop Jacqueline Kennedy’s photo from leaking. Playboy has rejected the photos, and the only ones who will publish it is Playmen.
Meanwhile, Adelina meets Steve, who introduces Adelina to the photographer who captured Jacqueline Kennedy. Since the photographer is unwilling to give the photos at Adelina’s price, she lets it go. That night, Andrea takes Elsa on a date and asks her if anyone has offered any photographs to Adelina. However, Elsa does not know, so she says there haven’t been any offers.
The next day, the photographer visits Playmen. This time, Adelina reduces from the initial offer as she knows nobody is willing to publish the photos. Now, Chartoux thinks publishing these photos is risky. Adelina says if they lose in court, then there won’t be Playmen, so might as well go out with a bang. The divorce papers Adelina has requested have arrived, but she has a heavy heart before signing them. At the office, Chartoux asks Elsa to talk to Adelina about Jacqueline Kennedy’s photographs.
That night, Elsa meets Andrea for a date, where she tells him about the photos. The next day, the cops arrive to search the office. So, Adelina gives Elsa the photos to sneak out of the office. The cops don’t find anything. Once the cops leave, Adelina sends Elsa to Geneva to put the pictures in a safe. Chartoux starts to suspect Elsa. However, Elsa does as she is told. It’s Lorenzo’s birthday and he is celebrating with Anna and others. At the party, a friend gives a picture of Andrea pointing a gun at someone. There, Lorenzo sees Anna kissing another boy, so he leaves in anger.
On the way, Lorenzo falls from his bike. At home, Adelina says she is divorcing Saro. While putting Lorenzo’s clothes in the laundry, she finds Andrea’s picture. At the office, Hefner, the owner of Playboy, offers to buy out Playmen but keep the staff on. So, Chartoux asks Adelina to take it. When Adelina meets Steve, he points out that someone had tipped off the photographer, so he captured the image of Jacqueline Kennedy.
Adelina confronts the photographer, who reveals that it was Onassis. This is because they have signed a prenup, and whoever breaks the marriage will get nothing. Now Adelina adds the picture of Jacqueline Kennedy at the last minute to the print. This helps in selling the issue like hotcakes. Still, Hefner wants to buy out Playmen. Later, Adelina gives Andrea’s picture to Elsa and asks her not to repeat the mistakes Adelina made and break up with Andrea. When Saro receives the divorce papers, he is furious.
At home, Lorenzo listens to Maria on the radio, taking apart Adelina, calling her a bigger asshole than Saro. That night, Steve and Adelina go on a date to an exhibit. There are nude models performing movements. One of the models asks Adelina when the last time she made love. In the last scene, we see Adelina and Steve have sex.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 6 Recap:
The episode opens with Adelina and Saro in a car. We see a flashback to a week before, where the team discusses featuring divorce as the next issue’s topic. There is an obstacle as they have run out of paper to print the magazine. However, the other publications have paper supply. This is Onassis’s doing to prove he is innocent in all this.
Chartoux says, previously, when there was a fire in a warehouse, Saro contacted someone he knew and imported paper. Meanwhile, Elsa says to fight Playboy, they need to work around the wordplay to prove that Playboy is not original, as well. Later, Elsa asks Andrea to find out about the paper issue. Unfortunately, Adelina decides to go to Nice to ask Saro for help. Before leaving, Adelina promises Lorenzo that she will come back with the divorce papers. In Nice, Saro introduces Bob to Adelina, who also wants Onassis to fall. So, Bob helps with paper supply.
In a restaurant, Chartoux runs into an old friend. Meanwhile, Steve hopes Adelina does not get back with Saro. Chartoux has bad news as the White House comes after Playmen. So, Adelina needs to talk to Onassis to sort out the issue. Thankfully, Bob can help. While in a restaurant, Onassis and Jacqueline arrive to dine. Adelina approaches Onassis to stop messing around by involving the White House. At first, Jacqueline thinks Onassis and Adelina were working together. When they visit the washroom, they clarify the misunderstanding, and Jaqueline is willing to help Adelina. In that joy, Adelina dances with Saro, and that night, they sleep together.
The next morning, Adelina sees that Consuela has arrived and is pregnant. Upset, Adelina leaves. However, a magazine has published a photo of Adelina and Saro. Now, Andrea sees this and asks Elsa about it. Elsa retaliates and asks about his picture. Andrea says the picture does not tell the whole story. Furthermore, Elsa says she does not want to be Andrea’s spy anymore.
The office celebrates Adelina’s victory. That night, Poggi and Chartoux go to a newly opened gay bar. As they hang out, there is a fire, so everyone rushes out. Outside, a mob is waiting to beat up all the people. Among them is also Chartoux’s friend, so Poggi asks Chartoux to intervene. However, Chartoux does not move, so Poggi goes to help his friend. At that moment, Chartoux runs away from the scene. The episode ends with Adelina making out with Steve.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Episode 7 Recap:
The episode opens with Chartoux listening to the news about the mob attack outside the club. Later, Chartoux goes to the office to be surprised as everyone is present to celebrate Chartoux’s birthday. Meanwhile, Anna visits Lorenzo and asks him to hold onto a gun for her. Seeing the gun, Lorenzo is livid, so Anna says a friend gave it to her to hold on until the protests. Outside Chartoux’s house, Poggi is waiting to wish Chartoux even though Poggi is mad at Chartoux.
At the office, the team decides to publish an article about using pills (Ipil or the likes of it) to show women need to have freedom over their bodies. They also want to keep both sides of the argument, so they want a priest or a nun to write their opinion as well. Since the trial is approaching, Elsa has an idea to look for articles to prove that Playboy is not its original trademark. With the help of Steve, Elsa finds an article to help win the trial.
Elsewhere, Andrea tells Elsa that he was pointing at someone else who is not in the picture, and the man’s foot is seen. In Chartoux’s office, his friend is waiting as he wants a favour from Chartoux. There is an image of a minister with men. The comrade wants the pictures and the photographer’s identity. Elsa asks Poggi if what Andrea is telling is true. It turns out Andrea was not trying to hurt any innocent person.
At home, Maria finds the gun in Anna’s bag and is furious. They fight, and Anna runs out with Lorenzo. So, Maria meets Adelina, who asks Elsa to contact Andrea. Unfortunately, the person who has shot someone with this gun before is wanted by the cops. By then, Lorenzo and Anna reach the criminal’s house. Just then, Andrea stops them, but the criminal shoots Andrea. During this time, Elsa is with Chartoux at court, winning the trial against Playboy.
In the office, Adelina tells Elsa the bad news. When Elsa gets to the hospital, the nurses don’t allow Elsa inside as it is police orders. That night, Saro comes back as he won’t be arrested anymore. The office is in a state of shock. Sadly, Saro still holds the majority of the shares, making him the company’s owner. The team has fought to keep the magazine alive, and now Saro is taking over, not respecting even Adelina.
Later, Poggi meets Chartoux to say he can’t live without Chartoux. Furthermore, Poggi asks Chartoux to move to America with him. Poggi reveals he has images of a minister with scandalous pictures, which Poggi will sell to make money. The next day, Adelina learns Saro wants to sell Playmen as he has another venture in Milan. The unfortunate events continue as Saro fires Elsa. Upset and angry, Elsa tells Adelina that she is currently in no position to help anyone.
Mrs. Playmen (TV Mini Series 2025) Ending Explained:
That night, Saro goes home. Adelina asks Saro to sell Playmen to her, as it doesn’t matter if Saro sells it to a stranger or Adelina. Furthermore, Adelina calls Saro a megalomaniac, which infuriates Saro, and he beats her. At that time, Lorenzo enters the house and stops Saro. Through the night, Rocco and Lorenzo keep watch to keep Adelina safe. At the office, Chartoux quits as he does not like how Saro is running the company. Meanwhile, Elsa is fighting her trial against Ettore. It seems like she has lost.
Later, Saro visits Adelina to say he is going to fight for the custody of the children unless Adelina keeps her mouth shut. Outside, Lorenzo sees Saro and rushes to his mother, and misunderstands her compliance with Saro as ridiculous. Lorenzo visits Anna, who asks Lorenzo to run away with him. If Andrea dies, then Anna and Lorenzo may be put in jail as they were with the criminal. Still, Lorenzo tries to tell Anna that they didn’t do anything wrong, but Anna is overly suspicious.
Elsewhere, Chartoux’s buddy tells Chartoux that he isn’t young and can’t make money in America like Poggi. So Chartoux needs to rethink his decisions. Meanwhile, Elsa is at the hospital looking after Andrea. The next day, Lella meets Adelina to say Saro married Consuela before divorcing Adelina. Lella spills all the beans about the things Saro has done.
Lorenzo fights the criminals to stop Anna from leaving with them. At the hospital, Elsa kisses Andrea. Unfortunately, because Chartoux and his friend Poggi are arrested by the cops while doing the transaction, this makes Chartoux mad, as that was not the deal. At their romantic place where love blossomed, Adelina and Saro meet. Adelina tells Saro that he is surely going to jail for breaking the law. In the next scene, we see Adelina back in the office as the owner. Even Elsa has come back to work.
In the end, Adelina finds her true self, fights against all odds, and takes over Playmen rightfully. Some stories are incomplete, like what happens to Poggi and Chartoux. We don’t see them both when Adelina comes back. Will Chartoux come out now, taking a leap of faith? Lorenzo smiles as he fights for the right thing. What Adelina tells him about how people behave in love surely struck a chord.
Elsa and Andrea will finally start dating, and Elsa makes a living on her own through Playmen. In the real story, in 1982, Playmen was banned in America. Playboy did file a motion in court to stop Playmen distribution. The part about publishing nude images of Jacqueline Kennedy is also true. In real life, Adelina and Saro did get a divorce. Playmen readership declined as video cassettes were invented. Eventually, Playmen shut down.
