Episodes 6 and 7 of Cross Season 2 push the story into a more tense and uncertain space, where every decision starts to carry more weight. After the events of the previous episode, Cross returns to work while still dealing with the impact of the attack, and the team begins to connect deeper threads tied to Rebecca and Crestbrook. As they follow new leads, old secrets begin to surface, not just in the main case but also in their personal lives. Trust becomes a big issue, especially between Cross and Kayla, as they struggle to stay on the same page. At the same time, Rebecca stays one step ahead, forcing everyone to react rather than act. The latest episode builds on this pressure by raising the stakes even higher and bringing new players into focus. With only one episode left to the season finale, the story now seems ready to shift toward a final stretch where choices, alliances, and timing could decide everything.
In this article, I will break down episodes 6 & 7 of season 2. Please note there are major spoilers throughout, so it is best to watch the previous episodes first if you want to avoid any surprises.
Cross (Season 2) Episode 6 ‘Gather’ Recap:
Episode 6 of Cross Season 2 begins with Alex Cross recovering from the accident. He is bruised, injured, and has his arm in a cast, but he is already back to work. He sits down with John, and the two go over everything that happened recently. They talk about how Bobby Trey stepped in at the right moment and saved Cross’ life. They also discuss John’s lead in LaDonna’s case, where a possible witness might finally help clear her name. Even though they are talking through facts, there is an underlying tension. Things are getting heavier, and both of them know it.
Cross cannot stop thinking about Rebecca. After everything she has done, he still finds himself trying to understand her. John does not agree with this at all. He reminds Cross that Rebecca has killed multiple people and is now focused on going after Lance Durand. At the same time, Lance is out in public, hosting a party and acting like nothing is wrong. The next morning, Cross meets Kayla at the station. She wastes no time reminding him that she warned him about getting too close to Rebecca. Cross fires back by pointing out her connection with Bobby Trey and how risky that is. It is a strange moment because both of them are calling each other out for trusting dangerous people. The tension between them is clear.
Who is next on Rebecca’s list?
Roy and the rest of the team are not happy with Cross either. They question his judgment and the way he has handled the case. Roy even suggests removing him completely. Before things go too far, Chief Anderson steps in and stops it from happening. For now, Cross is allowed to stay on the case, but it is clear that he is on thin ice. Later, Agent Goff approaches Cross in the locker room. He praises his instincts but quickly shifts the conversation to something important. He brings up Senator Ashford and his connection to Crestbrook. This pushes Cross to follow that lead.
Cross meets Senator Ashford and gets straight to the point. He knows Rebecca has already visited him. He also knows about Ashford’s mother and her connection to Crestbrook. Ashford admits that he has been trying to live up to his mother’s legacy. He got into politics to make her proud and has been living off the wealth she left behind. Now, he is starting to realize that the money may have come from terrible things. The people in the photo Rebecca took have all benefited from this system. They are now rich because of it, but that money is tied to the suffering of workers and children.

Back at his office, Cross studies the documents he has gathered. He starts running checks on several names, including Jelani Amadou. It turns out Jelani is closely connected to Lance and is one of his closest allies. The other names also link back to Gabriela’s lawsuit against Crestbrook. Some of them even appear in Lincoln’s files. As Cross puts the pieces together, it becomes clear that these people are being targeted one by one. Cross and the team realize they are looking at a kill list. Rebecca is going after people connected to Crestbrook, but there has to be a pattern in the order. Cross cannot fully see it yet. For now, the team decides to warn everyone who might be in danger.
Is Kayla hiding the full truth?
Cross goes to meet Jelani and Lance. Jelani is in the middle of getting fitted for his wedding suit. Cross tells him directly that his life may be in danger. Jelani is shaken and starts to panic. Lance, on the other hand, brushes it off. He acts confident and believes they will be fine. At the same time, Kayla follows her own lead and tracks down Felicia. When she arrives, Bobby Trey is already there. He knocks Felicia out and ties her to a chair inside a shipping container. They plan to question her and get answers about the deepfake video and the larger operation behind it.
Felicia does not hold back. She tells Kayla that she played a role in Operation Bad Religion. She explains that soldiers were selected, injected with drugs, and used for experiments. Kayla was the one who helped choose them. She created profiles, and that is how she became part of the system. The people behind the operation used her work for their own plans. Bobby listens from outside the container. He is clearly affected by what he hears, especially because of his own past in the military. Inside, things get intense. Kayla loses control for a moment and chokes Felicia, trying to force her to talk. She eventually stops and steps away. She also calms Bobby down, reminding him that killing Felicia will not help them.
Kayla then changes her approach. She decides to scare Felicia by doing to her what was done to the soldiers. She prepares an injection and makes it look like she will use the same drugs. This works. Felicia breaks and reveals that the footage is stored in a secure facility located deep below her boss’s office. Elsewhere, Detective Vega arrives at a scene where Milo has been shot. John is there, holding him at gunpoint. John explains that Milo was involved with someone called Night Train, and things went wrong during a deal. This new name becomes important.
Can Cross stop Rebecca now?
John later goes to see LaDonna and asks her about Night Train. She claims she does not know him, but John is not convinced. During their conversation, John shows her old family photos and opens up a bit. However, he quickly shifts back to the case and reveals that Night Train is actually Tyson Knight, also known as T.K. Back with Cross, he starts to understand Rebecca’s pattern. Her list is not random. She is following the story of her mother’s lawsuit and taking out the people connected to it in a specific order. She believes she is bringing justice and protecting others by doing this. If Cross can figure out the order, he might be able to stop her before she kills again.
Cross (Season 2) Episode 6 ‘Gather’ Ending Explained:
The next target appears to be Lance, but something does not feel right. The team focuses on Jelani’s wedding, where both Jelani and Lance will be present. Jelani is nervous and feels like his life is about to end. He shows signs of guilt for what he has been part of. The wedding begins with music, dancing, and a large crowd. Cross and Kayla try to enter, but Agent Goff stops them. He says that Director Hammett has ordered that they are not allowed inside. This slows them down at a critical moment.
Inside the event, everything looks normal at first. Then it happens quickly. One of the dancers moves close to Jelani and suddenly cuts his throat. It is Rebecca, disguised and hidden in plain sight. She manages to get past security without raising suspicion. Outside, Donnie is waiting. He fires a shot into the air, creating panic and confusion. This gives Rebecca the chance to escape without being caught. By the time Cross and Kayla get inside, it is too late. Jelani is on the ground, bleeding heavily. The crowd is in chaos, and Rebecca is already gone. Cross sees her leaving but cannot stop her. The realization hits hard. They misunderstood the order, and because of that, they failed to save Jelani.
Cross (Season 2) Episode 7 ‘Winnow’ Recap:
Is Kayla right about Margaret?
Episode 7 of Cross Season 2 begins with Roy confronting Kayla. He praises her for securing the video footage and believes that the Bad Religion case is finally behind them. It soon becomes clear that Roy had been testing Kayla all along to see where her loyalty stands. After she proves herself, he offers her a major promotion as the new assistant director in charge. However, Kayla turns it down. She is not interested in a title right now. Instead, she wants to go after the real person behind everything. In that moment, she realizes that Margaret is the Mastermind and that she faked her death. Kayla quickly calls Bobby Trey and tells him she has one last job for him, something she believes he will want to be part of.

At the same time, Donnie senses that the authorities are closing in on their location. He rushes to warn Clare and Rebecca, whose real name is Luz. They begin packing in a hurry, knowing they do not have much time. By the time the FBI arrives, the place is already empty. The agents search the area and find disturbing evidence. There is a black bag containing Jelani’s fingers, along with a photograph of the group Rebecca has been targeting. There is also a card that reads “For Nuri,” which makes it clear who might be next. Even though Rebecca and Donnie are still on the run, Cross and his team are getting closer. They manage to track down images of the sniper’s truck and even get a license plate. From their findings, they confirm that four targets are still alive. These include Nuri, Griffith, Nat, and Lance Durand. For their protection, all four are taken to Camp Harrison Army base. It is a secure location, and if Rebecca wants to reach them, she will have to get past heavy security.
Will Lance finally give in?
However, safety does not bring peace. The four individuals are not united, and their past actions start to come back to the surface. They argue about their involvement in Gabriela’s case and what they did in the past. Each of them has received a message demanding 20 million dollars in exchange for their lives. The threat is serious, but Lance remains confident. He believes they can simply stay inside and let the authorities deal with Rebecca. When Cross and Kayla question them, Nuri almost admits her role in everything. She seems ready to confess, but Lance interrupts her and stops her from saying anything. He insists they stay quiet. Meanwhile, tension builds between Cross and Kayla. Chief Anderson has handed control of the case over to Cross, which leaves Kayla frustrated. She does not like taking a step back, and the strain between them becomes more obvious.
At 4 PM, the situation takes a turn. Lance receives a call, and Rebecca begins to put pressure on them. Nuri becomes nervous and wants to pay the money, but the others refuse to agree. Rebecca does not wait. She uses a method she had already prepared and interferes with Nuri’s pacemaker. Cross tries to act quickly and stop it, but he is too late. Nuri collapses and dies, proving that Rebecca is always one step ahead. After Nuri’s death, Griffith becomes the next target. The group is shaken, and Griffith decides to cooperate. He agrees to pay the money and even meets Rebecca in person. After that meeting, he calls Lance and urges him to do the same, making it clear that the threat is real.
Cross (Season 2) Episode 7 ‘Winnow’ Ending Explained:
Will John trust LaDonna again?
While all of this is happening, John is dealing with his own personal struggle. He confronts Regina about hiding the truth about his mother. He shares how he always felt left out growing up, especially when other children had relationships with their mothers, even if they were in prison. Regina defends herself by saying that his mother only reached out when she needed money, and she was trying to protect him from that pain. John is still hurt and finds it difficult to accept everything. He leaves and returns to the case, trying to focus. New information comes in about Tyson Knight, also known as T.K. The landlord reveals that T.K. has been connected to LaDonna for a long time and had even been staying with her. This means LaDonna was not honest with John. He confronts her again, and she admits to the connection in her own way. She also says she regrets her past actions and wants a chance to make things right. However, she is now in serious trouble for helping T.K. John believes he can help her, but only if she testifies against T.K. She refuses, choosing instead to take the blame herself.
Did Clare just frame Cross?
Back with the main case, Lance visits Griffith. What he does not know is that Rebecca is secretly listening to their conversation. Griffith admits his involvement in the child labor scheme and accepts that he has lived a good life despite his actions. He then reveals that he has a recording of an important conversation, one that could expose everything. His brother Alan also has a copy and instructions to release it if anything happens. Lance reacts badly to this. Instead of helping, he attacks Griffith and kills him. He then contacts Nat and warns him about the recording, saying they need to find Alan. Rebecca has the same goal, believing the recording could finally expose the entire operation. Donnie offers to go after it himself.
The ending of Cross (Season 2) Episode 7 shows that Cross and Kayla soon arrive at Griffith’s place and realize something is off. The evidence does not match Rebecca’s usual method. Cross figures out that she did not kill Griffith. This leads them to Alan. By the time they get there, Donnie is already leaving with the recording. A chase follows, and although Donnie manages to escape, he is injured. Donnie returns to Clare with the recording, but things take a dark turn. Clare shoots him and takes the recording for herself before driving away. In the final moment of the episode, Bobby Trey finally tracks down Margaret and holds her at gunpoint, setting up a major confrontation ahead.
