Amy Schumer has never been one to hide behind Hollywood spin. The comedian’s recent weight loss transformation has set off a wave of chatter—especially after she got brutally honest about her headline-making run-in with Ozempic. Amy Schumer Weight Loss: The Ozempic Episode No One Envies

Amy Schumer wowed fans (and set social media on fire) after debuting a noticeably slimmer look on Instagram following a Las Vegas trip with friends in early October 2025. Commenters raved about her “legs for days” and bold mini-dress moment, but Schumer wasn’t shy about how she got there.

Back in 2022, Amy decided to try Ozempic—a diabetes medication that’s been sweeping Hollywood for its rapid weight loss effects. But her experience was anything but enviable. As she revealed on Howard Stern’s show, Amy lost 30 pounds “so quick” but was left “bedridden” and constantly vomiting, thanks to a gene (GDF15) that makes her extra-sensitive to nausea. She couldn’t even play with her son Gene. “I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So, what’s the point?” she admitted, calling out influencers and stars who fib about their methods.

Schumer’s Weight Loss Transformation: What Worked for Her

After ditching Ozempic, Schumer didn’t just drop the subject. She kept it real about her wellness journey and the struggle to find something sustainable. In 2023 and beyond, the star opened up about turning to hormone therapy for premenopause and trying Mounjaro instead—a similar weight loss drug that, so far, has worked much better for her body and lifestyle. She credits Mounjaro with boosting her energy, skin, and hair, and said she wanted to “keep it 100” with fans so there’s no confusion about how she lost the weight.

Amy continues to encourage honesty within Hollywood, saying “Everyone has been lying, saying ‘Oh, smaller portions.’ Like, shut the f— up. You are on Ozempic or you got work done. Just stop. Be real with the people.”
