Coming towards the star-studded cast of the film, the film will mark the reunion of Aster with Phoenix, who starred in “Beau Is Afraid,” which also starred Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, and Amy Ryan. Phoenix certainly needs no introduction. He is prominently known for portraying the iconic anti-hero Joker. He also won an Oscar for 2019’s “Joker.” To everyone’s excitement, he is soon returning as Joker for the sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux,” hitting theaters in October from Warner Bros.
The female lead of Aster’s film Emma Stone recently won her second Oscar trophy for her impeccable performance as Bella Baxter in Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things.” Stone’s other acting credits include the Showtime series “The Curse,” which aired its season finale earlier this year. Another name attached to the project is Pedro Pascal, who saw a meteoric rise in his career after appearing in HBO’s epic “Game of Thrones.” He recently appeared in “Drive-Away Dolls” and will return for the second season of HBO’s “The Last of Us.”
Austin Butler will also appear alongside Pascal, Stone, and Phoenix. The actor is currently being praised for his performance in Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two opposite” Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, and Josh Brolin. Luke Grimes, Deirdre O’Connell, Michael Ward, and Clifton Collins Jr. are also set to appear in the movie, which does not yet have a release date.
